Kamala is a mentor in chapter 5. Siddhartha is trying to learn how to Love a woman through her. quite an odd thing to straight up ask someone to teach you. I think this archetype is there to show Siddharthas journey of learning about himself and how he goes about learning his Self.

Every time that Siddhartha has a new outlook on life he usually wakes up from sleeping below a tree, or is near a tree, and the tree represents wisdom. You could also say the ferry par tis an archetype because of the water. When he crossed the river, he started a new part of his life, and water signifies peace.

I think this archetype is there to show how Siddhartha thought he was smarter than everyone, even the elder mentors.

Part one had the Buddah wearing a yellow robe and the color yellow represents majesty and truth which the buddah represents in his temple.

one archetype that stuck out the most to me in Siddhartha was the snake skin that was shed. This archetype got my attention because in the book in the beginning of chapter four it says Siddhartha realized that something had left him, like the old skin that a snake sheds. Something had left him. And Again later on in chapter four, "Now however in that moment as he stood still, as if a snake lay in his path, this thought also came to him, I am no longer what I was." The snake comes up twice in chapter 4. The shedding of a snake skin stands for rebirth. And a snake itself symbolizes fertility or a creative life force. As snakes shed their skin they symbolize rebirth, transformation and healing.
