      <description>An accomplished instructor and school administrator, Patricia Nugent most recently served as the program director of Reading Partners in Charleston, South Carolina. Her responsibilities in this position involved working closely with leaders of the Charleston County School District to deliver high-quality reading instruction that met the specific needs of each school and student. Before joining Reading Partners in 2015, Patricia Nugent served tenures as a principal in the Shoreham-Wading River School District in Shoreham, New York, and as an assistant principal in the Riverhead School District in Riverhead, New York.

Currently residing in Sayville, New York, Patricia Nugent maintains active membership in the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the International Literacy Association, the School Science and Mathematics Association, the School Leadership 2.0 and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. Outside of the professional arena, Ms. Nugent enjoys cooking and collecting cookbooks. She is also an avid gardener and painter. </description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Experienced educator Patricia Nugent is the former program director of Reading Partners, a nonprofit organization that provides reading support for children in the Charleston, South Carolina, School District. Previously, she served as a reading coordinator with the South Country School District in New York and as the principal of two schools in New York’s Shoreham Wading River School District. Among other educational organizations, Patricia Nugent belongs to the National Association for the Education of Young Children. <br><br>The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) aims to connect research, policy, and practice to enable high-quality learning. To that end, the organization recently launched Hello, an online platform that makes its Interest Forums more accessible and provides a more user-friendly way to connect, converse, and network. The platform utilizes innovative online technology to enable more people in the education community to join the important conversations.
