There is evidence to support that Mrs Garner was relativly nice to Sethe. When Sethe went to Mrs Garner to tell her that she was going to marry Hallie Mrs Garner "touched Sethe on the head saying,'You are one sweet child" and then no more"(31, Morrison). This proves that Mrs Garner treated Sethe in a nicer manner. though she still "owned" Sethe it goes to show that she may have treated her slaves with more respect considering that Sethe feels comfortable enough to share personal information.
In this article the desendants seemed nice considering that "an elderly white woman held the hand of a black man with whom she was deeply engrossed in conversation". This proves that the desendants of slave owners and slaves were able to learn from past generations somewhere on how to treat everyone with decancy.

Baby Suggs can sort of see the future, and she senses something bad coming. She also sees visions of the bad thing having something to do with a pair of high top shoes, but she can't quite put her finger on it. We also find out her real name is Jenny, or that's what her papers say. She still prefers to be called Baby Suggs. She also helped Stamp Paid get the dead baby away from Sethe in chapter 16.
