Lesson starts well, a bit more energy would be ideal, however, the learner begins with a good question to engage the learners and that is a perfect way to start the lesson on work that has been completed in previous years.

A PowerPoint presentation is available and this is amazing as it allows inclusivity in the class. The learner starts the presentation with a joke and that is a great way to ease the tension in a classroom.

The learner uses jokes as well as great visuals to explain the element of a food chain and food web. The learner is explaining all the points really well and is engaging the learner who is sitting in. This is exactly what is required from us. Visuals are excellent as it is showing the food chain in its entirety.

The learner sitting in has shown a lot of interest in the lesson thus far and the learner has explained the process of each consumer. The learner sitting in has answered the questions well and this shows the teacher/learner explaining concepts really well.

The teacher has also explained all types of animals and the types of consumers. The sitting in learner has understood the work and answered accordingly to the way the teacher has explained. The teacher has also used an example of a cow, which is excellent as it is not just one single example.

This was a great lesson and explained the concept of food chains correctly and effectively to a grade 5 learner.
