I don't think that enough citizens will practice social distancing to slow down the Coronavirus enough. It may slow it down, but I don't think hospitals will be able to keep up. As far as we know there are seven people in our town who have been confirmed with Coronavirus, which is crazy to me, and I think there are going to be many more people who get it. Some people are just careless, and don't really care about things until it affects them personally. Many people work in hospital settings, like my dad. This means he still has to work, therefore, he could contract the Corona Virus while at work, but not know about it. He then would come home, and possibly get us sick. Even people who try to social distance as best as they possibly can, might have to go out and grocery shop, coming in contact with many people, and maybe exposing themselves to the Coronavirus. I think that the number of cases has to get a lot worse, and is going to get worse, before it can get better. I do hope that it is very slow in progression because that would be very helpful for hospitals and the government to handle, but I am not sure that it is going to happen. I just hope that the least amount of people possible get sick, even if we have to go to the extremities. Overall, I don't believe that social distancing will slow the virus down enough because of people who are careless, workers who still have to work, and necessary needs, like grocery shopping.

I do think that enough citizens will practice social distancing to help slow down the spread of coronavirus. I think this because my family and I are following the rules and only going out when we need groceries/toilet paper/paper towels etc. When we are bored, we go for rides or on walks. My mom always makes sure everybody's hands are washed whenever we walk into the house. Based on how many people are in Target when we go, it is clear to me that people are respecting and following the social distancing requirements. It seems to me that elderly people don't talk this as serious as it is, considering that they are at highest risk. Also middle aged people are also not taking it as serious is at is. The coronavirus can harm many people at any age level. When people follow the rules and keep their hands clean, and away from their faces, the spread of coronavirus will decrease.

I think the citizens are and will continue social distancing. Citizens will because the roads in Dedham are really quiet. Also, in my home my family and I never go out unless it's for the pharmacy or the grocery store. If people want this virus to stop spreading people have to follow the rules that are put in place for social distancing. Social distancing is bad and good. People won't really have interaction but, it's good because you won't get sick. You can always talk to a friend on the phone. If people don't do social distancing the coronavirus will spread very rapidly and will be very dangerous. It's dangerous now but imagine how much more dangerous. (I only have 117 words but this is all I had to see.).

I do think that enough people will practice social distancing to slow down the spread of coronavirus. I believe this because many people are already practicing social distancing. For example, many schools are closed all over the country. These schools are closed for weeks up to the rest of the school year. Some colleges have also sent their students home to stay safe, slow the spread of the virus, and complete their courses online. Another example of social distancing that is already happening is many workers are working from home now or are not working at all. Many states have also made rules or guidelines to follow about social distancing. Many states have also talked about what you should do to protect yourself when you have to go out into the world during this pandemic. For those who are not already practicing social distancing, I think that they will be practicing social distancing soon. I believe that as this pandemic spreads and gets worse, more and more people will stay home and practice social distancing. Even if social distancing is not the “fix” for this whole situation, I think that it will definitely help with slowing down the spread of the virus.

Personally I think that enough citizens will practice social distancing because people don’t want others to get sick. For example, almost two Saturdays ago I went into Dedham Square and almost no one was there besides me and my friend. It was desolate. Sure there were a few people, but when we went into CVS there was no one in there besides from the workers. There were no lines. In addition I’ve FaceTimed my friends to talk about social distancing and they haven’t gone out unless it’s important, like going to the grocery store. All over the internet i.e Instagram, SnapChat, Tik Tok and Youtube all people post about is to stay inside. Instagram has this new feature called “Stay Home” where it compiles all of the Instagram Stories into one place and they all have the message “Stay Home.” On Tik Tok if someone posts something about Covid-19 under the description it will have information about Covid-19. People are mostly staying inside unless they need to buy some groceries. If people need to get something now they won’t go out to the store they’ll buy it on Amazon. In addition people aren’t going to restaurants, they're getting DoorDash, Uber Eats, GrubHub and Postmates. Also I’ve seen on Tik Tok that people that work in restaurants the restaurants will only allow take out to limit human contact. Also many T.V shows that have live audiences don't have live audiences or like The Dr.Phil he films from his kitchen using his laptop webcam. People are not playing games in person; they play games on their phones with their friends or an online game. Friends won’t hangout in person; they'll either FaceTime, Google Duo, House Party or start a group chat with all of their friends. In addition clubs will Zoom each other to connect.

I think that most of the citizen will practice social distancing but not all of them.I think if everyone did practice it, it would slow down the growth of the virus by a lot. I think the people who wouldn't be practicing it would be the people who either have to work still, have to help other people, have to get supplies, or either just don't think the virus is bad for them. But those people who just don't care about it could be the reason multiple others die. They don't know if they have it or not and they could be spreading it to others without realizing what they are doing. For everyone else that has to go out they should be washing their hands as often as they can and sanitizing everything they have to use and most importantly staying atleast 6 feet from everyone. If everyone just got prepared and the president put a country wide locked down for 2 week that could stop the spread almost all the way. So I do think that social distancing is the key to stopping the spread of corona but I think it is going to take a while for social distancing to actually set in place.

Yes I think social dicatning will help stop the spread because if people aren't near each other then the virus wont spread through people. If people aren't closely interacting then the virtues will be isolated. It won't be able to spread through human interaction. So if people interact with co workers, peers, distant family and store workers then the values won't be able to spread in mass amounts like it has been. As people move around and go to work the viruses passed from person to person and it then continues to spread in large amounts. When you move around freely you are more likely to spread the virus to other people. Social distancing could also give hospitals a period of relief so they dont have so many patients at once using the supplies and tests.Flattening the curve helps decrease how quickly the coronavirus case forms. If enough citizens participate in not going out and distancing themselves from their friends and family members then it can slow the rapid spread of the coronavirus. Overall if everyone practices social dictaning then it can help stop the spread of the coronavirus.

I do think that people will practice social distancing to help slow down the spread of the coronavirus because it is just so contagious and many people can suffer from it. I think that people are going to realize what it can do to people and that is going to worry everyone so they will stay away from people and once people start to stay away from each other that is going to help everyone and help people stay healthier. I chose this answer because at first I just thought that people were overreacting about it and freaking out for no reason but then i noticed that it was killing people and getting people very sick so i started to social distance from everyone because i got worried that i could get the sickness since it is very contagious.

I don't think that many people would practice social distancing. I don't think they would because people value seeing others too much, It's hard for most people to stay away from everyone and stay bored inside the house. Also, many people don't think that the coronavirus is very serious. It actually is very serious because it spreads very fast and stuff. Also, people are minimizing the Coronavirus and saying that it is just like the flu, and it is not that serious. Another reason why people aren't social distancing is because they are overgeneralizing the Coronavirus, They don't think that it could be as bad as previous outbreaks, they assume it isn't as bad. Another reason is because people miss each other too much, and they worry about dying. Another reason is because many people are ignoring the government and they are just doing their own things. They don't think that it is that serious and they get into trouble and get sick and help spread the coronavirus. Lastly, even though everyone doesnt social distance, there are alternatives to social distancing. Most people just sanitize themselves so they don't spread the disease and they make sure no one is sick. Even though this may not work it is a strategy.

Yes, I think that enough citizens will practice social distancing to help slow down the spread of the Coronavirus, at least for a few groups of people. I agree with Leana Wen, unfortunately, it is impossible to go into complete lock-down. Because families need to get food and necessities for staying home for such a long period of time, people have to get out somehow. According to the video, 1 in 8 people are allowed to move freely. The majority of that 12.5% are people with jobs, such as doctors and nurses, or grocery store workers. These people are trying to help patients with the Coronavirus. For people that are practicing social distancing, they must wash their hands, don't touch their face and try to stay healthy in general. With this the spread can slow down a little bit and "flatten the curve." In the simulation, with the wall in the beginning, it was getting smaller and smaller, so by the time there was a first opening, there was more than double the amount of people healthy and recovered compared to the sick. The "wall" is created by social distancing, and it goes in and out from movement of people. All in all, slowly, this will be cleared up if the majority of the population can practice social distancing and healthy routines.

I think there will be enough people to slow it down, at least by a little. I know that many are panicking because of the virus but instead of social distancing, the panic may also cause those people to go shopping a lot for extra supplies. I’ve seen people stocking up on toilet paper even though there aren’t any symptoms of the sickness that would cause the need for it. I also know that many people may believe that others are overreacting and there’s no chance they’ll get COVID19, and they don't care about social distancing. However, even with whatever many of them there are, I know there are educated people that do care about it and know what to do to prevent the virus from spreading. I think there will be enough people to slow it, even if it’s just the tiniest amount. In the simulation with 1 in 4 people not practicing social distancing, there was still a good deduction in the number of cases. I don’t think there are enough of them for the situation to be like the last simulation, though, where the amount of people social distancing was much greater than the amount of people that were not.

Yes, I do think people will practice social distancing to help slow the spread of the virus. People already doing it (At least in MA) to an extent. Schools are closed, gathering can't have more than ten people, and only essential workers still go to work. The video states that "Since early March, there has been dramatic increase in the number of people in the U.S with Coronavirus. And this increase has scientist worried." This is true, but I believe that because of all the media coverage, stories, and stats being shown that people just realized how serious this is. People have been no-stop told that social distancing is the best way to combat the virus. Of course there are outliners, but I think people are starting to understand how important it is to stay inside.

I do think citizens will practice social distancing to help slow down the spread of coronavirus. This is because, almost everyone in the U.S knows the dangers and risks of carlessly going outside (shown in the video). No one wants to get the corona virus and I believe many people are practicing social distaning. An example is when I go out to take walks/bikerides. I have seen a decrease in people outside in general because of social distancing.

I think this because on the animations when everyone was moving around the virus spread very fast and nobody recovered. But when most of the people social distanced, not as many people got the virus and more of them recovered. I think that most people will do social distancing but even if not everybody does it will still slow the spread of the virus. I think this because even if the people who don't social distance all get it, the people who do social distance won't so it will still be slowing the spread even if it is only a little.

I think enough citizens will practice social distancing to help slow down the virus because they probably don’t want to get it. People don’t want to get sick. If there is a solution to stop the virus, people will probably take the chance to get rid of it. If seen people wear gloves around grocery stores and bags around their mouth. You don’t want to go through what people with corona are going through. Some people think that it is not a big deal but it is. There has been a severe increase of cases throughout the U.S. and they are just going up. If people are really concerned about it, they will probably try social distancing and are not going to hang out with other people. There are some people that are still hanging around with their friends and partying, but that might not turn out well for them. People have to make a change for this virus to calm down or even go away. Right now I'm not allowed to go outside or anywhere. I would much rather go to school right now but I also don’t want this virus. I think that people will practice social distancing for the risk of their health.
