soldiers weren't able to get food (to eat or drink). They were left to starve for 9 days the weather conditions were too hot to be without water. They were allies with the filipinos and only got food by them. This was against the law again they were suppose to provide food for them no exceptions, nor while being punished.

They didn't have stable places to live they were kept in a wire stockade for 3 days where it rained. They didn't have good conditions to rest/sleep in then after spending the nights in those conditions they would have to resume on there march which took a total of 14 days. This is also against the law because they were suppose to be lodged in buildings or barracks that provided places to clean themselves .

By looking at the story of Grady T. it shows how they weren't treated fairly and not how the government said they would treat them. If there was a faltering solider they weren't allowed to get help if someone was found helping they would get shot or stabbed. This was not following the laws of how to treat prisoners in the war, they were suppose to get treated when they were injured they needed a place to stay were injured.
