It doubled the size of the US for such a cheap price. The states couldn't decide if Missouri should be free or a slave state so they made a new state along with missouri to even it out. It was a huge rooster protecting all the little chickens and that means the US was protecting South America from Europe. Monroe Doctrine was a warning to Europe to not interfere with the Americas, it was important because it told Europe wouldn't tolerate anymore colonization. Similarities- the north and south are both apart of the US. Differences- The North was a free state and the South was not free. The North made most of their money from factories and the South made most of their money from farming.

The Louisiana Purchase was a big deal because it was cheap and dubbled the size of the United states. The Missouri compormise was that missouri would enter the US as a slave state and Maine would enter as a free state. His foresight cartoon was about how the monroe doctrine said that europe could not mess with the US. One similarity that the north and south had is they both had ways that they made most of their money. Differences were that the north had more cities and the south was rural. There were more african americans in the south because they were needed as slaves to keep the plantations running smoothly.

The Louisiana purchase was a big deal because it doubled the size of America. The Missouri compromise split U.S in to two leading to slave states and non slave states. The foresight cartoon represents country powers and the divide between the east and west hemispheres. The Monroe doctrine told the european powers to stay out of America's business. One of the similarities between the north and south was that they were both using the resource to get money. Two of the differences were that one believed in slavery while the other did not, and one was colder than the other. -Emitt, Gabby, Sydney
