The museum features theme- and artist-specific exhibitions throughout the year to highlight the variety of noteworthy artwork throughout the course of history. One of the Met's upcoming exhibitions will display the works of American artist Frederic Remington, who, in the 19th century, detailed insightful depictions of Native Americans, trappers, and cavalry in the American West through paintings, sculptures, and illustrated books.

Born in 1861, Remington attended Yale University's art school, but left when he was 19 years old. He headed west toward Montana, where he first viewed the sights he would later popularize through his artwork. Some of his most popular paintings include The Long-Horn Cattle Sign and A Dash for the Timber.
