We tell them the plan to escape cuba and reach america. They understand that we have go but they refuse to go with us because they had lived there for generation and can't stand a journey on the sea so they prefered to stay while we go and escape. We cried and begged them to go knowing that they will soon die and we won't be able to ever see them again. That night was the first time I ever saw my dad cry, he was breaking down and couldn't comprehed that he will never see his own mom ever again. We built a big enough boat to fit 7 people and some extra space but we only need space for me, my brother, my father, and my mom. So that cover that for a while but only a day or so until they send a police or miltary unit to our house. We had put some final touches into the boat and took everything we needed nothing we wanted my brother cried because he wanted to take a teddy bear but we couldn't so we told him that we would buy him one over in america. After he stopped crying my dad brought a gun that he used in his job and put in a safty continer. It was the police investating where the children had gone which includes me and my brother. They checked every inch of my house and left kinda upset that they didn't find anything. Tonight was the night we will make our great escape our father told us. As we waited for the sun to go down my mother made us our last hot meal in cuba. Night fell up this ugly nation then we got the boat to start running but then we heard police sirens we made everyone get into the boat and we set off in a while they will send a helicopter get us and bring us back. If we get caught it's game over because they would either kill us or sentence us to a long time in prison. We all looked worried so my father took out his gun and made sure it had ammuntion. He cocked the gun as the helicopter got closer and close to our raft/boat. As it was over us my father started putting holes into the helicopter which evenutally drove it off. That wasn't the end of it though we saw a boat comming our way but this boat was a huge american ship. It was just some cargo ship that ignored us and contiued it's way. It would be the end we need to set foot on american soil r else we could still be sent back to cuba. We ate our first meal prepared by my mother which was kinda warmed and we all drank some water. She was cooking in the middle of the ocean with a small pan she brought with her. We were all happy because had seen that cargo ship and plus a hot meal that means two things either we are close to shore or something bad is about to happen. In the distance my brother a yelled that a big wave is coming this way we saw what it was but it was land. One more day on the boat then we should be there in the untied states. But we saw something else coming from cuba it was a boat. This was no regualer boat this was a miltary boat coming to get us.
