         <description><![CDATA[<div>This tool is designed to let the data speak for itself.  This in addition to the "shut up and listen" mantra should allow me to hear what the areas of needed support should be.  It also will result in more effective goal setting for the staff as well as myself.  Better listening, explicit goals written down, and holding people accountable for next steps will all help my effectiveness as a coach.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I've been doing a lot of research and thinking about the science of conversations and what it means to be a coach vs. a consultant vs. a collaborator. I believe that one of my weakest areas is being a pure coach where I am careful about my questions and mindful of teachers thinking.&nbsp; I'd like to practice having better coaching conversations with my team, with teachers, and other teachers around the school.&nbsp; I've attatched a video reflection and an article that has resonated with me.&nbsp; (The video is shared separately)</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>My project boils down to joining with other coaches at my school and video taping coaching sessions we have with colleagues. Later we'll use the attached CCAT to establish a baseline and respond to become more effective coaches. In hopes of driving the consultation dynamic more towards collaborating and coaching, I tried to combine prompts from Elena Aguilar's "The Art of Coaching" with language from Laura Lipton's "Mentoring Matters". The document is open and I invite your feedback. The tool could morph to become a digital form or use scales for more details. Now the real work begins.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This document is inline with coaching stances. Each week we will moving through the continuum of the stances: consulting, collaborating, and coaching. This document also helps the teacher identify what specific Essential practice ( how teachers are evaluated in DC  Public Schools) they would like to  work on within the 6 week cycle. This document will be made live through Dropbox. In the Dropbox I will also provide video resources that show how Essential Practices are demonstrated in other classrooms. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Academic Coaches PLN</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I have started creating an Academic Coaches Professional Learning Network across regional independent schools, as this role is starting to grow, though relatively new in Western Canada.&nbsp; My intention is to use Slack to coordinate us asynchronously, but still have at least 2 synchronous meetings to help connect our group which I will host at my brick-and-mortar school.&nbsp; We will share scholarship, experiences, strategies and other resources, and advocate for the growth of coaching roles in our school communities. No tech tool to link yet, but Slack will be the first to set up, and we'll go from there. I've started reaching out via email and through face to face conversations, and have 5 of us already keen to connect.  Katrina<br><br></div>]]></description>
