Link: https://quizlet.com/latest
How to use it: Quizlet on it's own can be flashcards and study tools. The cards can be randomized and flipped for a classic feel. The decks can be created by the teacher for individualized content specific for your students and their needs. Quizlet live is a kahoot alternative based on accuracy rather than speed. It is interactive and updates in real time for students to play often.
Strategies: Quizlet would best be used as a unit review or by studying vocabulary terms or dates with your students. Students would be able to print cards for more of a hands on matching experience.
Cost: Quizlet is free for teachers and students.
Pros: A quick and easy study method for students. It is a free resource. Acts as a game while still being educational, as well as teaching your kids team-building skills. It is very user friendly and easy to navigate. Quizlet is also a good way to review information quickly.
Cons: limited to what the deck includes, or by using other peoples decks the content may not relate to all of your students. If you do not do your research before hand, you may be giving your students false answers in their studying.

Link: https://www.google.com/earth/
Description: Google Earth is a free program from Google that allows you to "fly" over a virtual globe and view the Earth through high-resolution graphics and satellite images. It is greatly superior to static maps and satellite images. Google Earth gives you a drone's eye view of the landscape below.

How to use it in the classroom: Students can use Google Earth to:
• study natural and political maps
• learn map reading and navigation
• visually explore historical, news, and census data• annotate locations and share with others
• create their own 3D models to overlay on maps
• download geographically-referenced information created by others

Teaching Strategies:
Educators can use Google Earth as a supplement to all kinds of lessons, bringing the geography and topography of different locations to life. Students can perform searches, zoom around the Earth, study layers of weather, and study eye-level photos. Google Earth can be used to encourage students to find things such as Volcanos, and some teachers have created a scavenger-like games out of researching the locations. This type of project has students investigate the locations of various volcanos and then has them apply the information by exploring and bookmarking using Google Earth.

Pros:
Free
Available on a wide array of devices
Up-to-date maps and data
Extremely detailed
3D capabilities
Additional layers available
Ability to "visit" select buildings
Historical view
Can be embedded into web pages
Available in 45 languages
It is a great way for students to take virtual field trips

Cons:
High bandwidth requirement for best performance
Low resolution in some areas
Requires internet access
Not all areas of globe are covered - some are restricted
Less developed countries are poorly presented on maps
Students will be off task and begin to look up things other than the desired destination.

This website has many interesting videos that would teacher students about history and science. The activities are a great way for students to work hands on in science.

In the classroom we would use this website by using the activities for an experiment within the standard. Exploratorium has paper directions as well as a step by step video for the whole experiment. Within the videos it shows what you need, why you are doing it as well as how to do it. The experiments are easy to follow along and students could do it theirselves or within a group and work together.

Exploratorium is free to everyone for the videos, activities, and act., except for the events that are advertised on the website.
