My two countries are China and Canada. They mainly trade oil and gasoline used to power cars, electrical machinery and equipment such as wire and power boxes, iron (a mineral), steel (also a mineral), toys and games like monopoly, fish, crustaceans and mollusks, tea and phones for communication. China and Canada trade with each other because they are a cheaper trade source due to the Chinese wage being very low which is now changing and becoming higher so Canada has resorted to cheaper places like Korea. China transports most product by boat, they use freighters which are massive boats that can carry a lot of product at a time.

In China most children have a phone. These are the same phones that we use at Royal Oak Middle School. In China most kids don't have time for sports outside of school due to school being so time consuming. In Canada almost everyone participates in activities outside of school, for example track, Taekwondo or hockey. In Canada, at most schools we can wear whatever you want. In China children either wear traditional clothing if your parent wants you to or a school uniform.

I chose to focus on GASOLINE and OIL. In Canada, Oil is literally dug from the ground, then processed and purified so it can power vehicles, chainsaws etc. Gasoline is traded from Canada to China to power their cars, buses, trains, plains and boats. There are so many people in China (1.4 billion) that if every one walked to where they are going they would need roads just for pedestrians. What makes gas special is that the world relies on it to power vehicles like cars that are fossil fuel dependent. Without gasoline (or diesel) the car is rendered useless. Gasoline is an essential component of the modern lifestyle to get you to your destination quicker than walking, or horse and buggy.

School in Canada is quite relaxed compared to China. Here, we go to school for 10 months with 2 months of summer break. Our day only lasts 6 hours and we do not have to take tests to get into the next grade. For Chinese students school is a lot harder and when I say a lot I mean A LOT! They have to take a long test to get into high school and only 10 % of the students pass and move on to high school, the others have to go and find jobs. The school day in China is also a lot longer, it starts at 7:30 am and ends at 5:00 pm. Their school grades (grade 1, grade 2 etc) are similar to ours, there are 6 years in elementary school, 3 years in middle school and 3 years in high school. Their school year is from the beginning of September to mid July and the summer is usually spent preparing for exams at the beginning of the next school year.

There is a big difference in the food we eat and the food Chinese people eat The list is very long so I have shortened it. Canadians enjoy eating sandwiches like grilled cheese and B.L.T. We also eat a lot of farm produce like beef and bacon. I personally eat a lot of peas, carrots and corn. We also eat meals like hamburgers, hot dogs and a Canadian classic, Kraft dinner. Chinese however eat a lot of seafood as well as meat, rice and noodles. They eat shark fins and frogs. They drink some interesting things like black beer, salt soda water and soybean milk! They eat a lot of seaweed, soup and the famous Wonton soup. The following is what people from both countries enjoy eating; Wonton soup, chicken, seaweed, tea, water , rice, pig and soup.

Canada's technology has definitely improved at a quick pace. We have started building electric vehicles, we also sent the Canadarm into space which is part of the International Space Station. There have been many new phones coming out. There is the new way to pay with tap credit cards, nuclear power and the walkie talkie. China has created many things like the super computer, gun powder, high speed rail ways, nuclear power and paper making. China was the world leader in technology until the Qing dynasty. I have access to a phone just like 1.2 billion people in China. I have access to a computer at home just like a Chinese student. We have access to almost the same amount of technology. I do not have access to a tap credit card and the average Chinese studentdoesn't either.

Life in Canada is very comfortable, we have a lot of space to enjoy nature, lots of room for housing, nice farm land and rights and freedom of speech and travel. We are all treated the same no matter your skin colour, gender and religion . China is densely populated with little space. The cities are loud and there is not much nature to visit in the main populated areas. In rural areas women are usually sent to work in factories while men go to school, college or university.
