The beginning

Gaea and two other immortals emerged from emptiness, known as Chaos. Gaea gave birth to Uranus, without a partner. As time passed, Gaea took Uranus as her husband. Together, they had their first set of triplets, the Hundred-Handed Giants. The Hundred-Headed Giants each had one hundred arms and fifty heads.

Tartarus

Uranus banished the Hundred-Headed Giants to Tartarus, one of the immortals who emerged from emptiness. Gaea gave birth to another set of triplets who had one large eye in the middle of their foreheads. For the second time, Uranus feared the strength and power his children possessed, banishing them to Tartarus.

Removal of Power

The 12 Titans were born to Gaea and Uranus, they became the oldest generation of Greek Gods. Once they were of age, Gaea asked them to help remove Uranus from power. The youngest, Kronos, announced he would bring justice to his older brothers by helping his mother. Using a sharpened sickle, Kronos repeatedly slashed Uranus. Uranus' immortality couldn't protect him from the physical agony.

Kronos

Kronos took control of the world and claimed his destiny. Similarly to his father, Kronos feared the power of the Hundred-Handed Giants and the Cyclopes. His decision to keep them imprisoned appalled Gaea.

The prophecy

Gaea joyfully issued a prophecy to Kronos, telling him he would be overthrown by his own child, just as he had done to his father, Uranus. Kronos vowed to never have children, as to outwit the fates of being overthrown. After his sister Rhea gave birth to their first child, Kronos swallowed the newborn, fearing his mothers prophecy.

The plan

Rhea feared she and Kronos' fifth child would receive the same fate as the other four. Rhea met with Gaea, who was furious over Kronos' behavior. The two devised a plan. Instead of showing Kronos their newborn Poseidon, Gaea would take Poseidon to be raised by sea deities on a remote island. Rhea would show Kronos a wrapped foal, pretending it was their newborn. Just as he had done with all his children, he swallowed the foal whole.

A drugged drink

Rhea used the plan again with her son Zeus. Rhea patiently waited for the day her children would be avenged. As Poseidon and Zeus came of age, they agreed to fulfill the prophecy. Gaea and Zeus met with Metis, who was known as the wisest of the goddesses. Metis created a drugged drink that would force the stomach of Kronos to dislodge its contents. Rhea slipped the drug into Kronos' drink and watched as he vomited his now grown children.

War and Retrieval

Zeus, Poseidon, and their siblings demanded Kronos to surrender his power. Kronos refused and war was declared. Hades, Poseidon, and Zeus took a dangerous journey to retrieve the Hundred-Handed Giants and the Cyclopes from Tartarus. Their imprisoned uncles cried in gratitude, realizing they weren't forgotten. The Cyclopes and Hundred-Handed Giants immediately agreed to help in the war.

Powers

Before returning to the war, Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon were given powers by their grateful uncles. Zeus was given the gift of invincible lightning bolts and thunder, ensuring his ability to rule the immortal and mortal worlds with indestructible authority. Hades was given a helmet of invisibility, giving him the ability to hide his identity whenever he wanted. Poseidon was given a magical trident, a tool that allowed him to control all the world's water.

Zeus takes control

With the help of the Hundred-Handed Giants, the Cyclopes, and their new powers, the Titans had no chance of winning the war. The Titans were forced to retreat to Tartarus, greeted by the Cyclopes who put them in unbreakable chains. The Hundred-Handed Giants took the role of guarding Tartarus. Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades split up control and responsibilities. The rule of the gods and begun and the Titans were silenced.
