         <description><![CDATA[<p>Dexcom monitoring had promising results on helping reduce blood glucose monitoring. The Dexcom was compared to non-critically ill inpatient population with diabetes and was found reliable to the standards of hospital blood glucose monitoring. They found that the Dexcom is reliable source in comparison to finger pricks at home. Subgroups within the diabetic population that suffered mild to moderate anemia and impaired renal function, showed maintained accuracy parameters in patients. Patients with severe anemia, researchers should take into consideration in future studies that the use of a Dexcom showed reduced accuracy, in detecting hyper- and hypoglycemia and guide inpatient insulin therapy.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The Dexcom can be very beneficial for patients with diabetes due to the constant monitoring of their sugars. This device will not only help the frequent finger pricks that they have to do on a daily basis, but they also have a handheld device that can notify them if their sugars become too high or low for better monitoring. This results in a better outcome for less frequent hospital visits and better self-monitoring for the patient themselves. The decrease in A1Cs is better and the frequent data storage shows the rates of the patient's blood sugars over a period of time in real time.</p>]]></description>
