How do the practical activities and unit information inform your personal understanding at the use of dance as an expressive learning process through which educators can facilitate creativity in primary students?
~I learnt about the importance of creativity and expression which can be implemented through dance. Dance allows students to express themselves in ways they may not be able to vocalise across to their teachers.
What has been the most important personal realisation in the last few weeks in this unit?
I never thought I was good at art. I cant draw, I can't play music and I'm not a good actor. A big realisation to me is that everyone is good at art if you try. The beauty of art, is there are so many forms, variations and no right or wrong way to express yourself.
Why is it the most important?
It is important to pass across this knowledge to my future students and make sure they express themselves through art in many different forms. Art fosters creativity, imagination, problem solving, alows them to express their emotions and HAVE FUN!

The skills most relevant to media arts application are those related to artistic expressions (p.246).
What do you know about media arts? What Technical skills do you feel confident with?
Media arts gets children to express their creativity and artistic creations through technology and different forms of media. Media arts can be performed through digital recordings, power points, comic books and there is lots of different apps you can use. There is 3 stages of media arts, Pre production (script writing, sketching, planning), Production (capturing, recording, directing), Post production (editing, mixing, laying out). I feel confident with my skills around technology and the process of being creative while utilising them.
How can you plan to develop your competency in media arts education?
Like a lot of areas of art for me, I feel as though I need to develop my artisitic expression. Dinham (2020) suggests to expand your knowledge of networking technology and media arts bu going a group called Art Education 2.0 (http://arted20.ning.com/).Throughout my practicum I am going to communicate with other teachers in the school about what Digital media they use.

Looking back, What was your favourite activity?
I enjoyed the drama activities we got to participate in while we were on campus. The choral speaking activity stood out to me as it helps to foster team work and co-operation between group members. It is a great way to engage the audience and help students to participate who may be shy.
Has anything surprised you about teaching dance, drama and media?
What dance, drama or media are you keen to try with your future students? Can you comment on the process of devising a dance, drama and media performance as a group?
To be honest, a lot have surprised me about teaching dance, drama and media. Going into this course I had a pre concieved idea of what it would be like and I had a mind set that I wouldn't be good at this unit or enjoy it. My lecturer has opened up my mind and made me realise the importance and fun of Art in Education. Art helps to foster a Childs imagination and gets them to use their creativity which is so important for a child growing up.
I have enjoyed the process of creating out media arts performance and am excited to try this in my future classroom. There is so many possibilities with this assignment and it is fun and enjoyable to complete, along with being great for team-work and cooperation.
