This week, I flashed back to reading this article in my AP BIO class many years ago. I had never read a TED TALKS blog, but I enjoyed their research in this format, too! It is a very complex and hard topic, as there are sides to both why we should and should not gene-edit humans. It was super insightful and a good way to look at it.

That term [disorder]has always seemed pretty aggressive or intense. I read a handful of articles about it and want to continue my research about it and why it is such a prominent trait in my infants today.

Growing up, my Mom did go through periods where she would opt me out of standardized testing at school. She always preached that she knew I could do it, but mentally, it was nice not to give me the stress that comes with continuous testing days. This video from TED gave a nice history of testing and why so many appreciate/ loathe it.

I believe that condensing all your thoughts throughout the week helps you grasp all the information that you learn. I learned that writing down key concepts that stick out to me throughout the week helped me narrow down what I wanted to focus on when I got to the end of the week. Things that I narrowed down could be concepts I was shaky on, or things that interested me and I wanted to learn more about.

I have learned there are so many different layers to a developing child. I think I have never put much thought or details into how much a child goes through in the middle stages of development. By making this portfolio and seeing everything grouped together, it connected all the concepts and showed how complex and details they are. Individually, it was easy to understand the concept presented, and then as a whole and following them week by week it was cool to see them from the earliest stage to when they reach later life.
