Perhaps the most important leaders in the Women’s suffrage movement was Susan B. Anthony. She may have gotten her ideas from her parents that believed that women should have the same rights as men. Those rights that include school, work and everyday activities. Another person that cooperated to the cause by writing a book that practically laid a clear and moral basis for human and political rights for women. One of the most recent women’s rights activists is Malala Yousafzai which survived an attempt of an assassination, has become a rights activist especially for the right to an education.

The impact of giving women rights was positive in The United States Of America. Women were now able to attend college and train for profession on jobs that were mostly for males only. It also created a better image of women in society with higher expectations than when they had no rights. Women’s salaries were increased but did not receive equal pay as males.

The battle for women's suffrage started in earnest in July of 1848 with the speech Frederick Douglass gave at the Seneca Falls Convention in upstate New York. The male dominated Congress was more encouraged to let MEN vote of all races than to let white women vote. The 15th Amendment , the Constitution was changed to state that males (over age 21) could not be ignored the right on account of race, religion, ethnicity, nor former state of indentured servitude. But battle as they may women don't gain this same right until the Progressive Era with the passage of the 19th Amendment.
