In 1915 Wegener said the only possible answer is continental drift. He thought this cause because continental drift stated converging plates. Wegener tried to prove his point by saying he saw the " jigsaw" fit between South America and Arica with there three other points. It is likely that convection currents caused by the unequal distribution of heat within earths core because the plates move.
