Week 1

During my first week as a pre-service teacher in a Field Study course, my mind was full of doubt since this was the time we were encountering students. This week, our job was to first observe different Practice Teachers who were doing their demo-teaching. Through this observation, I learned a lot from their strategies, which I can use in my practice teaching someday. One of the strategies I learned is that, even though we are in online classes, we can still use and incorporate traditional materials in a smooth way.

Week 2

During my second week, we were able to observe our grade 3 students. I was so overwhelmed and shocked because I couldn't imagine handling children who are very hyper and active, with some exceeding their limitations. However, I was happy too because they were very participative. This week was also our first team-teaching experience. At first, we were very nervous because it was the first time we were teaching real students. But happily, we had a successful demonstration, though there are some minimal things that we need to improve.

Week 3

During my third week, we used a 5 A's Lesson Plan where all enhancement activities were focused on their past three lessons. These activities served as their review for the upcoming Unit Test. During this time, three FS teachers were observing us, and I felt sad because we had a problem during the last activity when the kids became chaotic. However, we were able to finish our demonstration in a good and smooth way. This served as a lesson that we need to think more carefully, especially when giving instructions.

Week 4

During my fourth week, we met our Grade 3 students in person for the first time. Our first meeting was during their Unit Test, and I was amazed because they finished it within 30 minutes. This day also made me realize that, as a teacher, we must be flexible and ready for unexpected situations, as we had no activities prepared. This week, we also had our third demonstration, where we were able to review the next lesson with them.

Week 5

During my fifth week, we had our last team-teaching session. Together with my co-teacher, we taught and guided our students in making their weather clocks, which they will use in the next meeting. This time, we successfully finished our demo-teaching, but we exceeded our dismissal time, which made me realize the importance of being more aware and having better time management. This week was also Family Day. I was very happy because it was my first time attending this event as a pre-service teacher. It was a productive day because we had a duty as the documentation team.

Week 6

During my sixth week, I had my final demonstration. This week was full of doubt and nervousness as I wondered if I could successfully complete this demonstration. However, as I stood in front of my students, all doubts vanished because I was confident in my ability to teach them, having thoroughly studied my topic. Nevertheless, there are always areas that need improvement, particularly my disposition and grammar. Overall, the experience was invaluable and provided me with crucial insights and confidence for my future teaching career.

Week 7

During my seventh week, we had many tasks to accomplish. First, we created a final examination, which made me realize that designing such an assessment requires significant critical thinking skills to effectively challenge the students' knowledge. Moreover, all of the students participated in their Sangandiwa, where they showcased the respective countries assigned to them. These experiences were very memorable, as we were the ones grading them based on their performances. This week, we were also in charge of guiding the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. I felt happy because I was a Girl Scout when I was younger, and seeing myself as one of the teachers guiding them was an honor and a significant achievement for me.

Week 8

During my eighth week, we implemented our examination. This was also the last week of face-to-face sessions with our students. While observing the Grade 3 students during their examination, I realized that they are very observant because they were the ones who noticed a technical error. I also learned that during an examination, if one student has a question, as a teacher, you should answer it for all the students so that everyone is aware. After they finished the exam, we gave them gifts that they could use in their studies. Lastly, checking their exams was a very touching moment, as their scores showed that they had really learned from what we had discussed.

Week 9

During my ninth week, it was time to complete the grades of our students. Honestly, I began to feel what my teachers felt when students lacked in completing activities. I had to chase after students for their missing assignments. This made me realize that as a teacher, we must enforce strict deadlines because ultimately, we are the ones who face difficulties when things are not completed on time.

Additionally, this week, we also worked on our modules and CBAR from home. While creating my modules, I based them on our observations and experiences from our Field Study. These modules included narrative questions that challenged me to think deeper and more critically. By the end of the week, I had completed half of my modules. Furthermore, my co-teacher and I started planning our CBAR. Together, we chose a topic and issue that we observed among our students.

Week 10

During my tenth week, we returned to our face-to-face duties. Throughout the week, we continued working on our modules and CBAR. Our CBAR was already checked and approved, but we needed to be more specific in our topic. By the end of the week, I had completed answering my modules and would be able to submit them next week. We also had a meeting on our CBAR as we revised it. This week was productive as I persevered in completing my tasks.

Week 11

During my eleventh week, it was our last week of duty as field study teachers. We needed to prepare for the baccalaureate ceremony for Grade 6 and Grade 10. We helped our professor in areas that needed attention that day. Moreover, watching the accomplishments of the students made me proud and happy because I gained new experiences until the last day of our duty. This week also made me realize that my field study journey has come to an end with good experiences.
