I found this political cartoon from an American cartoonist to be very powerful. It is bias admittedly but has a very strong message and makes a keen observation that draws a parallel between Americas leader and some of is questionable policies with a regime (the Nazi regime). At first the reader may not understand but on closer inspection it is obvious this is the outline of the iconic hair and lips of Trump, his outline made with the fuse of stick of dynamite. The fuse is lit which is a link that implies America, or their government, is about to explode. The link is clear between the danger of dynamite and the danger of the policies and ideology linked to the Trump government. It's clever, derisive and simple.

This political cartoon created by Philip Zec shares a very powerful message relating back to the year 1942. In the cartoon it shows the price of petrol increasing and states that by wasting petrol you are costing lives. This is inferring that people have lost there precious lives in order to get petrol imported for people to use. This cartoon makes the audience feel guilty because they are killing innocent people that are trying to provide for their country and by putting it in black and white it shows how depressing this situation is.

'Germany shall never be encircled' clearly illustrates when Adolf Hitler was in power had been in attempt to take full control of the globe. As well as the cartoon shows that his arms are stretched to thin and he is unable to reach across the globe, this references to him stretching his power to thin and overestimates his reach. The cartoonist Ernest Howard chose the colours of black and white as they show dark meaning when mixed, this displays Hitler as the enemy who had brought destruction upon the globe on his conquest to conquer the globe in the Nazi name.

~ Kyle Crawford

Source four is a very controversial topic and would have been more of an issue in the years of 1939 to 1945 in the years of World War Two. In this cartoon it shows Adolf Hitler stretching his arms around the globe, to an audience this illustrates that Hitler has a desire to take over as many Countries as he can and rule whoever he can. This illiteration also portrays Hitler to be a powerful leader and a force to reckon with as he is seen looking over the globe and holding much of it in his grasp, Or it may be a symbol of desperation for more land and allies. The blurb beneath the cartoon says that ‘Germany will never be en- circled’ which suggests Hitler believes Germany will never be closed off, or that it will never stop expanding or growing. Which to myself and an audience can show power or desperation of Hitler.

This political cartoon, created by Bernard Gillam, 1884, intrigues me because of the outrageous representation of James G. Blaine and his 'political sins'. The reaction of the audience demonstrated in this cartoon is symbolic and accurate- seeing this Politian tattooed with his sins, revealed like an ominous, disgraced and shunned animal. Being tattooed is a permanent and visible decision, thus, this demonstration can be interpreted as an over reaction however, domineering in it's opinion. If Blaine has nothing to hide, then why can't his sins be tattooed to his body.

This political cartoon entitled "Germany Shall Never be Encircled" by Ernest Howard in 1939 is particularly interesting to me as it highlights Hitler's selfish and unrealistic regime, which many artists didn't dare to delve into out of fear. This statement originally was used as a scare tactic but the artist's depiction of Hitler demonstrates the childishness of the statement and his previous and inevitable actions. Furthermore, the use of this statement as a threat was muddled by the depiction of what could be child-like greed or empty and fleeting dominance.

The Nazi-Soviet cartoon was the political cartoon I liked the most and had a impact on me. It gave me a new perspective on the Pact and the terms under which the agreement was made. In the cartoon we see Joseph Stalin, Leader of the Soviet Union, and Adolf Hitler, leader of Nazi Germany meeting on a battle field, presumably making the pact. I thought it was very interesting how the cartoonist put forward his perspective with their initial meeting and the terms they use to describe each other. I also thought it was quite humorous in the way that the cartoonist drew Hitler.

The famous yet controversial cartoon depicts two powerful leaders (British Prime Minister William Pitt and Napoleon Bonaparte) sitting opposite each other slicing into the world as if competing for the biggest portion.
