The background is simple since there is so much happening in the foreground which enables our eyes to focus on the movement of the story instead of getting distracted and wondering.

Although both characters may seem similar in aspects, one is depicted as smarter, the rectangular design depicting a clever wit and head headed/stubborn whereas the other robot is rounded in design, softer, scatter-brained and tends to follow what the other is doing but equally going along with the other robot in a sync and as judgemental at first of the child, who does not fit into the stylisation of the robots by any means. There is a sweet bond between the two and their personality traits compliment each other nicely and can be seen as either a sibling kind of bond or very good friends with how loyal they are to each other. The smarter one allows the softer one to lead and completes their "sentences" near the beginning which shows this slight personality difference between them. This narrative is flipped as the smarter of the two "dies" at the end and the other is left to close their eyes in fear. However, the softer of the two jumps after them, proving both their loyalty to each other and the follower archetype mentioned previously.

This is in contrast to the slower shots after the climax which lingers on the robots, and the landscape as a whole to establish their deaths and to perhaps communicate it's severity.

robots like things done how they know and seem freeked out by the kid talking/comunicating how theyre not used to.

the words being writen on screen makes the audio less clutterd while showing how loud and chaotic some noise can be (like when theyre carying things out/rumaging around things), mixing the audio and writen versons is a fun visual thing to do aswell.

the robots seemed realy close (probibly bicos theyre the only 2 that are around to comunicate with eachother) wich is probibly partialy why they were trying to teach the kid how to comunicate with them how they do. at the end when the kids sneezing causes them to panic due to the language barier bitween the 3 and one of the robots bumped intot the other causing it to fall and die, the robot seemed like it couldnt be without the other robot so jumped off aswell.

the personality of the kid seems like they want to please the robots so when they both died at the end bicos of the kid, they tried to apologise. the change from cautius/wanting to make the robots happy to happy to alone and grieving/guilty is alot of change.

the colour of the kid and objects are a huge contrast to the blank and bright white background and robots. the colour of the kid and the objects stand out alot from the background and robots bicos the kid and objects are less saturated/bright colours where the robots and background are bright and high saturation. this gives alot of contrast to how much of an outsider the kid and objects are in the robots 'world' by making that so clearly obvius even if youre not realy paying atention to it.

Moreover, it also shows the robots' inability to process and appreciate the little boy's way of communication.

Two robots who communicate in sounds were creating sentences through creating a domino effect of sounds. A child joined them however, he can't speak to them it's implied that the pitch of his voice is too high for the robots and it hurt their ears, so the child learnt and communicated with them in their language. Lastly, after spending time with the robots the child sneezes multiple times which is a sound that means fire to the robots and they panic, one of the robots slips and falls but is caught by the other robot however the child notices what happens and panics and speaks for getting what will happen he realises straight away but its too late and the robot lets go of the other to cover their ears and one of the robot dies, the other robot without hesitation also jumps and dies leaving the child alone.

Where was the film:

The film was set in an open space in a grey environment although it's an empty place they still have props/objects that they use to make sounds to communicate. It is very confusing because the place is very open and flat with just a few structures around like the ramp we see at the end and a tower in the background, however we have no other information on where it is set. It feel like it is set in the backrooms or something.

The language of the robots may feature only a few of these components of language, or new components making the language incompatible with the human language.
