Prohibition turned out to be disastrous for the economy as the number of jobless people rose rapidly. This is because the government closed down breweries, distilleries, saloons and many restaurants had to close because they didn't have enough money without alcohol being sold.

The women's equality act improved as during and after the prohibition women were accepted into a bar to drink alongside the men. This meant that they were finally making improvements towards equality.

A negative consequence of Prohibition was that it introduced a new type of crime throughout the country. One of the main reasons that Prohibition was introduced was to put an end to crime under the influence of alcohol when in actual fact it created more due to illegal production of alcohol in homes or hideouts!
However, a positive consequence of Prohibition was that it increased the worth of its citizens. With alcohol out of the way people had nothing to spend their money on they would put it in a savings account. When Prohibition ended in 1933 it was found that the amount of money in savings accounts had tripled.

This made the jobs of prohibition agents even harder as they had to stop this. However, a positive impact of prohibition was more important thing could take place rather than drinking. Therefore, attendance at schools and churches became more regular.

A negative impact of prohibition was how the ban affected those still wishing to consume alcohol. This caused people harm because even though the law thought it would save more people than kill them they were wrong. Over 10,000 people died from poisoning of alcohol. This was because the law banned people from smuggling alcoholic beverages passed the borders, therefore they poisoned alcohol and people were killed or fatally harmed when drinking it.
On the other hand, prohibition had a positive impact on people because it improved the health of many. Especially children, who's parents had previously spent money on alcohol. This improved their health and finance because more money could be spent on things sch as clothes and food.

Also, other ways of selling alcohol illegally increased. For example, Bartenders would replace 'sot drinks' with alcohol.
On the other hand money that was once wasted on alcohol was now used to improve schools and children's clothes and sources of living. However, a negative impact of the Prohibition was that the crime rates went up significantly as gangs formed to sell and produce alcohol to sell at the black market and made lots and lots of money but, because of rivalry between gangs crime rised rapidly. Also many people lost their jobs who worked in the reigon of alcohol.

Also, a ban on alcohol would boost important grain supplies such as barley.
Negative impacts however were that for some people, especially gangsters, prohibition was pointless as they sold alcohol illegally, by illegal pubs called, 'Speakeasies'. Also, gangsters like them would get ill from diseases caused by alcohol, and the size of America's Boundaries made it hard for the prohibition agents to control bootleggers smuggling.

This would also prevent accidents that occur commonly with the involvement of drunk people due to their state of mind and behavior.
However, a negative impact of prohibition may be that hundreds of workers in the alcohol buisness lost their jobs due to prohibition. This resulted in them having to break the law to provide for their families. This happened because they struggled to find decent and suitable jobs.

The government's plan had backfired-an increase in organised crime occurred instead of a decrease.

A positive impact of prohibition was the speakeasies created alot of jobs for coloured Americans who had talent in entertainment.

A negative impact of prohibition was that the crime rates actually raised, which was the opposite of what they actually wanted. People continued to sell alcohol illegally in speakeasies, which soon fell into the control of gang leaders. This lead to the deaths of many people as the gang leaders fought. People attempted to make old alcohol alright to drink again, so the government poisoned it, leading to even more deaths from the alcohol. Due to the people who were supposed to be enforcing the law in the first place (prohibition agents) being easy to bribe due to their low wage, people could easily bribe them to let them continue with their illegal doings. People who worked in taverns or the like ended up losing their jobs as most of their customers just went there for the alcohol, which was obviously banned. This resulted in a loss of customers, sinking profits and eventually bankruptcy, resulting in many taverns simply closing as a result.

A positive impact is that the money that people spent on alcohol ended up going to a good use instead of simply being washed away down the drain uselessly by providing clothes, food and other necessities required for survival for their families and children. People were considerably healthier since they weren't getting drunk or contracting illnesses and diseases from various liquors.

Fistly, they were many impacts caused from prohibition including negative and positive impacts. For example, a positive impact is that that less money was spent because no one could buy alcohol which meant that people would have more money to spend on other things like food or transport that are essential to live a normal and happy life. Plus, usually fathers, could have time to take care of kids and not focus on having a good time with alcohol so the kids could get a good childhood with 2 loving parents. In addition, diseases and illnesses decreased due to no more alcohol as alcohol can cause many health issues which also helps doctors and nurses and money for medication. Due to this, children also wouldnt't be in so much danger.

However, a large negative impact was the increase of crime rate when it comes to alcohol purchasing in black markets and prisons were starting to fill up meaning new prisons had to be made which cost a lot of money. Due to the increase of crime rate, more gangs were created. Also, because of no production and selling allowed, the manufacturers would lose their jobs and struggle to find other jobs which later lead to The Great Depression as well all know.

This was because when Prohibition wasn't in place, men would go out drinking large amounts and come home and abuse their wives.

A negative impact of Prohibition was that there was much more crime than expected. Many people smuggled alcohol into the country during the Prohibition period and others illegally sold alcoholic beverages at bars/saloons. It also caused people to act out on their anger and have much less respect for the law.
