How do you think our purchases impact others around the world? by Melika Azodi

Think about what we discussed as a class, why we import so many items manufactured in different countries to help support your statement.

I believe that all the purchases we make impact people around the world. I think this because the stores we buy it from sell it for more and don't pay the countries who actually made it a fair amount. I believe this because children the age of just six are put to work 7 days a week and 12 hours a day. So when we make purchases all the children are put to work in bad environment and don't get paid a fair amount. They also don't even get to go to school because they are forced to work all day long. Lastly some of the parents sell their children for money as much as $20. The children are sent to work at factories . So next time you purchase food or a piece of clothing make sure you appreciate the countries that made it for you and think what they had to go through just for a little money. So next time you purchase food or a piece of clothing make sure you appreciate the countries that made it for you and think what they had to go through just for a little money

I believe that That the purchases we make have a bad impact because It forces kids in pour countries to do things that are not good for their health. Like the little girl who is forced to spray the beans with those chemicals. Those chemicals are probably affecting her health in a very bad way. Thats not it though kids are forced to work 12 hours a day and they maybe make 40 cents. When we go to stores the only thing we think about is getting the cheapest food we never think about where the food comes from. So the next time you go to a store think about where that food might be made. Also think about if what you are buying has a negative affect or a positive affect on the people that make the food.

I think how we purchase things in Canada and not realize how other Kids in other countries have to work around 10 hours a day is wrong. Kids young as 6 have to use pesticides against chocolate, which is wrong because they could get sick. They get paid only a few cents a day which isn't fair trade for how much the chocolate actually costs . it is child labor which is terrible.

I think this because in the video that we said that kids were not getting payed properly. Also they said that insted of working kids could go to school. Also conteries like canada they buy all of theses prodects because it is cheeper in places like china and more conteries.

I believe that child labor is an abuse to children because with no food or water they work even 6 years old works for 12 hours a day. Also they don't even get paid well. If you buy a chocolate for 5$$$$$$ they only get half of one 1$$$$$$. Some parents will not let them go to school just work for 12 hours a day. Also some children spray the chocolate with unhealthy chemical they inhale. They can not play and learn they are forced to work 12 hours

i think our perused affect other a lot like how a 6 years old girls sells water every day and only make 40 cents and she is not paid fare.if we sold water we wold make 20$ but we could stop when ever we want but she has to do it all day with no breaks. also they have no education so they can not get a good job and be poor in the future they will have a bad life. when we buy cholet and it says fare trade on it that good because the person that makes it gets a far amount of money. but when it does not have the fare trade on it that means that you are not getting a far amount of money for the 12 hours you do it for and the hard work. also I find it very very very rude that the parents sell there kids for only 20$ and that not a lot. also the girl who was spraying the plants with chemicals so the bugs don't eat them but the kid does not have a mask so it gets into her lungs and affect there lungs.

I believe that when we purchase items from stores it may not be fair to others. The reason I think this is because after watching the news video it explained what fair trade is, and how child labor affects childrens lifes and future. When we purchase items companys pay back the importers and these importers do not get paid the fair amount of money. This is not fair because everytime we buy a product it means that other people around the world are working harder and harder. Some children around the world are sold for around twenty dollars and other children are pushed away from their families to help make cholclate. These children do not have the opportunity to play in a playground and go home at the end of the day and play e.g fortnite, these children at the young age of 6-16 are working in harsh conditions twelve hours a day with no break and no water. After some companies decided to pay a fair trade these childrens futures may brighten up and by paying fair trade weve created hope and futures for children around the world, that are suffering from child labor and working under harsh conditions to help make money for their families.

I believe that we are impacting others around the world with our purchases by buying products that are not fair trade. By buying these products we are encouraging child labour and unfair trade. Just by purchasing one shirt that was maybe 15 dollars a child in a different country was paid about 20 cents. This is unfair because they work very hard for long hours but all they get is about 50 cents and the inability to play, go to school and enjoy their childhood.

When you buy a piece of clothing from a store, or food from the grocery store you don't think of how that piece of clothing of food got made. It probably does not come to your mind. All you might see a beautiful shirt. But what you should see is a child working hard all day in the sun just to make that shirt. You may not realize it but we are becoming part of an unfair trade. Children at the age of six work eight hours a day and get paid less than ten dollars. Some parents sell their children to get 20$ just so they can feed them selves and take care of their familys. . Some children work in unsafe for their health. Instead of going to school they work. This does not happen in just one place it happens all around the world. Yes you make children do all these things for a shirt that you want when all they want is their childhood and freedom.

Our purchases impact others around the world greatly, because parents are forcing young kids to work just for our products because they don't get much money. I think it is unfair that they have to work in such a bad environment.Large companies which we purchase from may not be the producers of the clothes and it's unfair that the people that make the clothes don't get a fair amount of money back. I can't even imagine having to work 12 hours a day in bad conditions, I wish the producers would get more money because they are not like us we have a nice location to live in and we don't have to work, but they don't get nice houses like us and they have to work. When I saw the video I felt bad for the kids that were my age or even younger had to work and don't get proper education like I do. And it is just cruel that kids can get sold just so the parents get money, and only like 20 dollars!

We will take their hard work and pay them less than they deserve. Also, Families are selling their children for a meer 20$ so the families can get paid to provide for the rest of the family. Canada is still purchasing the chocolate because it makes them money, but not the people, even children, who labor and work for it. SOme chocolate companies are doing a fair trade and paying others what they deserve.
