The issue that my book addresses is mental health.This issue does affect my character because once he was in a coffee shop while people were robbing it and the robbers couldn't escape so they held everyone in the shop as hostage and the robbers were annoyed because he never was quiet.This changes the story because they are held hostage in the whole book. The robbers and Zack ( main character) become friends. This affected all of the people in the coffee shop but mostly Zack and the robbers.This affected other people because every time he talked the robbers threatened everyone that they would shoot them

The character that goes through the issue is Zack and he has schizophrenia and he is the most impacted because he has to live with it.He deals with his issues by taking some daily pills. It changes how one of the robbers feels about Zack because at first he thought he was just an annoying kid but after Zack told him about his disease he felt bad for him and tried to understand him.This issue taught me how big mental issues are and this book could change how people feel about mental health too.

Schizophrenia is a disorder. It is treatable but there isn't a cure for it. Approximately 200,000 individuals with schizophrenia or manic-depressive illness are homeless. 63 billion dollars have been spent in the United States for treatment. People with the condition have a 50 times higher risk of attempting suicide than the general population.I think those are some important facts because we are trying to lower the number of homeless people and because suicide is a big problem in our country.in order to solve this is we have to make the medicine cheaper so everyone can afford it.
