By offering free on-site child care, part-time hours, and a work location easily accessible by public transportation, we are removing barriers to work. The supportive environment promotes the development of job, life, parenting, and relationship skills. Choosing to engage in the weekly Bible Study provides an opportunity to get to know God and what it means to be His daughter and assists in applying biblical truth to the challenges of everyday life and the suffering the women have experienced. Friendships are built, awareness of resources grows, support systems are enlarged, and information is gained. There is now work history for job applications and a reference available. This aids the women in transitioning into jobs that offer longer hours and higher pay so that they can support their families with less reliance on government assistance.

Camp Mariposa is a free year-round addiction prevention and youth mentoring program for ages 9-17 who are affected by the substance use of a family member. Campers build knowledge, life skills, confidence, and connect with peers and trained adult mentors.

Join like-minded individuals in a supportive community where you will learn tools to address compulsive acquiring and saving while deepening your understanding of clutter and how you got here. Attendees will need to have a copy of Buried in Treasures: Help for Acquiring, Saving, and Hoarding, 2nd Edition.

Well, good news! There are a number of resources that can help you make an informed decision about whether working is the right choice for you. Benefits counseling is a great place to start.

If SNAP recipients are not meeting this requirement, they will be limited to three months of SNAP benefits for a three-year period. 

DHS’ goal is to make sure Pennsylvanians stay connected to life-sustaining nutrition assistance to help them feed themselves and their families. Partnership and support across government and service sectors will be important to helping people meet these new requirements.
