My name is Hong Ngoc Ngo. You may wonder why I go by Ruby Schreckenberger. Hong Ngoc is my Vietnamese name and it means Ruby in English. My maiden name is Ngo and Schreckenberger is my husband's last name. I am working on changing my name to make it "easier" to pronounce. However, people told me it is even harder with Schreckenberger.

I am 27 years old. I am married and we have an 18 month old daughter. My husband and my daughter are my world. 

I am currently studying MS in School Counseling at Walden University and I would like to work with high school students. 

I live in Georgia and I am a substitute teacher. I used to be a teacher in my country for 2 years. I moved here 3 years ago and I was a dental assistant for a short time and now I am in education field again.

School counselors are the heart of the school. We work with the students and other stakeholders to make our community better. I believe we can make a social change for our future practice.

P/s: That photo was taken in South Korea in 2019 when my husband and I had a honeymoon and birthday trip there. You can see the background behind me is North Korea. We used the telescope to see a part of North Korea.

I am planning on having preventive strategies for parents/guardians and other stakeholders. I advocate for drug test for teachers and the staff in Georgia, which is where I live. Only bus drivers in Georgia are required to be tested. I think it is a good example for the students. Drug testing is also for better performance and productivity.
