We also play various versions of "guess that word". For every vocab list students receive they also complete a memory cue chart. Their cues can be images, synonyms, sentences, word associations, or examples.

I would post gold stars on the chart for students who were above proficiency on their vocabulary activities. Silver stars for students who met proficiency, and bronze stars for students who were close.
