1. How well does your ethnicity or nation represent a nation or nation-state?

89.60% of people identify ethnically as Danish, with at least one of their parents being Danish as well. The other 10.40% of people are ethnically Albanian and German. This data proves that Denmark is indeed a nation-state, but it is an imperfect one due to their southern border with Germany. This border doesn't perfectly separate the Germans from the Danish population which creates an imperfect nation-state. FINAL ANSWER) Denmark is a borderline nation-state.

2. What struggles have they gone through to become a nation-state?

Denmark has had numerous troubles in trying to become a nation state. One problem has been the German and Albanian populations who live in Denmark. The Germans live near the southern border due the Second Schleswig War and the Albanians live all over the country due to immigration. They also dealt with migrant workers affecting their nation-state status in the late 1990's, but government policies shut down the programs and effectively remade Denmark a nation state. People in Denmark have also argued what it means to be truly Danish, which has lead to more confusion on whether its a nation-state. Some believe that one must have Danish blood on both sides and others say you only need one parent with Danish blood.

3. Is Denmark going to succeed in becoming a nation-state?

Denmark as it sits is not a complete nation-state more of a slightly incomplete or imperfect nation-state. By this I mean it is a nation-state that doesn't completely meet all the technical requirements to be officially a nation-state. The process of becoming a nation-state is nearly impossible unless a ethnic cleansing or some extreme eviction of one ethnicity. With this in hand Denmark is more than likely not going to become a complete nation-state but rather stay at it's current state in being very close to that label.

4. What is Denmark's history in their quest to become a nation-state?

Denmark's history as far as a nation-state conflict concerns the country has a conflict with Germany involving land once claimed by the danish people then claimed by Germanic people. This conflict was deemed the Second Schleswig War. This conflict pertains to the now German land of Holstein, a section of land located then on the southern half of Denmark but now located on the northern section of Germany. In this conflict (keep in mind this is the second war so this is the second time this conflict has occurred) Germans crossed the border into Schleswig, Denmark. German people were able to control and keep this land due to the dilution of danish forces because of the casualties form the first Schleswig war. This first war also took a toll on the danish government taking the lives of those in power so Denmark did not have the governmental strength to retain their land and eventually lost it to the stronger more stable and populous country of Germany.
