Here's where the 50,000 Youthled Grant went for my prototyping of 3 Months: (1) 7 Schools Engaged, (2) 17 Sangguniang Kabataans Partnered, (3) 31 Arts Activities and Workshops conducted, (4) 300+ young artists collaborated, (5) 9 Municipalities reached, and (6) 10 new institutions as partners. So proud of what the arts can do.

The Change Project has gone through several iterations since the last workshop but having partnered and collaborated with the right stakeholders, it is finally having a clearer direction to its fruition.

Beyond fellowship

My journey as a LEAD Fellow has provided me both opportunity to develop my change project and contribute in my work as youth development worker. My change prototype has been to numerous iterations. I could still remember the day when I first presented this to the target stakeholders, I feel doubtful and uneasy. Now, that I am still working on my prototype, I would say that I've been dealing with it differently. I am now more cautious at the same time, more realistic of what the prototype has to make. Meanwhile, the fellowship prepared me to be more concerned of how can we all work together, and how I can be of help to make this work together.

FOI Youth Initiative has been a partner of the Makati Business Club since 2019. We have been going around in local governments across the Philippines to help local business groups leverage transparency mechanisms in achieving business stability and generate employment for residents. These engagements established FYI and MBC's relationship which opened more opportunities that we continue to explore today in 2024. On February 22, I met Holly Sandalow, Program Officer of the Anti-Corruption and Governance Center at the Center for International Private Enterprise from the Washington DC office. In the meeting, we discussed how youth organizations in the PH work together in upholding democracy and how governance plays part of safeguarding and realizing the people's democratic rights. I was provided the opportunity to present my prototype design and pitch for funding support in carrying out our engagements.
