On January 30, the Vietnamese New Years Eve, villagers were mourning the loss of many of the war victims. What they didn’t know was that Vietcong agents had hidden weapons in the coffins. They then launched a surprise attack on over 100 towns in Vietnam (including 12 US air bases). It took months for the Vietnamese and US to gain control of these cities back.
