Example: Display two photos: Have a picture of a dealer holding one stack of cards and another picture of another dealer holding another stack of cards.

One deck displays 32 cards and the other deck displays 52 cards. Each deck contains four aces. Your goal is to draw an ace. Which dealer do you want to deal to you? Is it 4/32 or 4/52.

Students create a song list for the Odyssey. Standard students (in groups) would create a list of songs that connect with the themes contained in the passage given, and report out to the class why they chose those particular songs. Honors students (in groups) create the list of songs, as well as write a verse and chorus of an original song (or a parody of an existing song) that ties into the themes of the Odyssey.

The teacher would provide a few examples of songs to get the groups started.
