"The Plan"

        Nathan Braegar is a 45-year-old millionaire and he owns 17 exotic car dealerships and other companies such as Lamborghini, Ferrari, and Rolls Royce dealerships. His mother Janet Braegar is a 76-year-old retired woman who for 35 years worked as a bus driver for the San Antonio school district. When she was 23 she had a black 1962 Cadillac Deville that was bought from the pastor of her church. Nathan wanted to have a big gift for his mother. 

She has always loved Cadillac and Nathan bought her a 1995 Cadillac Deville D'elegance in pristine condition with 35,666 miles in the color Metallic Dark Cherry from the local Cadillac dealership. Janet had a condition called retinitis pigmentosa which is a medical condition where she could not drive at night. One day Nathan had a seizure and was put into the hospital. The hospital called Janet and told her that her son's life was in danger. For the first time drove to the hospital at 2 am and grabbed her keys and purse then ran to her garage, opened the door, and saw in her rearview mirror a casket. She did not care, she still started the car and she realized she was not in her Cadillac, she was in a 1995 Cadillac hearse. She had put the car in drive and swerved through traffic, she finally made it to the hospital and she ran in and said ‘’where is my son!’’. The doctor came up to her and said quietly ‘’come with me’’.

 Janet had followed the doctor and a nurse to a counseling room down the hospital hallway. The nurse handed the old lady a paper that said what had caused the seizures and he had a bleed in his brain to cause them. Then the doctor introduced himself ‘’hello, I am Michael Carerra the doctor of your son ‘’ he said. ‘’Your son did not survive, we tried everything we could and he went peacefully. Wou-’’. Then over the intercom, the receptionist said ‘’will the owner of the Cadillac Station wagon in the ambulance bay please move your vehicle’’ in a southern accent. She moved the Cadillac and said ‘’ok give me one minute’’. She called the funeral home ‘’blank Funeral Home’’ said the funeral director. ‘’My son has just passed away at the Kindred hospital his name is Nathan Braegar’’ she said. The funeral director showed up in the “not known removal vehicle” owned by the funeral home and he got out and commented on the hearse saying ‘’Now that's a classic funeral coach!”. The funeral director continued to take Nathan from the hospital into the funeral home's care.

 She had got in the now regular Cadillac DeVille and for the next 2 days she had gone out to the garage and the Cadillac turned into a hearse at midnight. On the 2nd day, Janet went out to the Cadillac and opened up the back door. There was a casket in the back of the hearse. She opened the casket and there was a tombstone that read ‘’say name of decedent’’ she said ‘’Nathan Braegar’’ and she heard in a hollow voice with a gold ray ‘’your son’’. She can bring back a deceased loved one for 5 hours after midnight once a night. When she saw her son she started by waking up and him bringing her a cup of coffee, eggs, and bacon in bed and he said ‘’Hey mom I know that you are alive and I am dead but I'm fine with that. Do you want to eat then do something like go on a walk and talk about what happened’’? After she ate they went on a walk.

 The boy had told his mother ‘’I had figured out I was a diabetic and then I had started drinking and then I had the seizure then I had ended up where I am now’’. I know but the Cadillac you got me, at midnight it turns from a 1995 Cadillac DeVille to a 1995 Cadillac DeVille hearse. ‘’I know’’ the boy said. ‘’I had bought it from the Cadillac dealer. The salesman told me that for 6 months 6 days and 6 hours the car had been owned by the “not known yet” Funeral Home in Salem, Massachusetts and the funeral director Donna Bonneville had used the hearse for regular funeral home use. Her time with Nathan was up and she went to bed. The next day she went to the local Cadillac dealership and asked ‘’can I talk to Jared?’’. ‘’yes ma'am.’’ and yelled ‘’Jared !’’. The salesman came to the front desk. ‘’Hello, Janet, what do you need’’.  

‘’ Hey Jared I need to ask you a question, is there anyone else in the world that has a car that does the same thing as mine? I want to reunite Nathan with my husband when he can finally see his father,’’ she said. He paused and said ‘’ Yes, a woman named Kathy Marie in Chicago has a 2004 Cadillac and it's from blank. Just like yours. As well as a recently retired 2009 Cadillac Dts From the same funeral home and no one notices that there is a letter explaining everything inside the casket. I would know I put them there and just in case I have one in the casket of the hearse that I own, when it first came in it had been different so I traded my jeep for it and now it's mine.’’ said Jared. Janet replied “Can I have Kathy’s info plea-” then they heard another salesperson say “JARED WE GOT A CALL FOR YOU” Jared replied with “WHO IS IT WOMAN” replied the salesman. The woman didn't answer. Jared had given out a groan and had said “Hold on I'll be back” and as he walked away he had mumbled to himself about his co-workers. When Jared came back he had given Kathy Marie’s information to Janet. When Janet had gotten to her car she had called Kathy. The phone rang and rang and rang and then eventually she picked up the phone.

 She had explained the situation and had made arrangements to bring Kathy Marie’s hearse to Los Angeles and to work out the plan. The next day she called Monroe Cadillac and asked to speak to Jared. The addition to the plan was that Jared and his wife were going to bring Jared’s two hearses to Janet’s home. And to work on the plan and they could “bring back” family members of their own. About a week later Kathy Marie had shown up in the Cadillac DTS and her sister was driving the 2004 Cadillac. Kathy Marie had seen Janet's Cadillac in the driveway and she knew it was the house.

 Janet had helped Kathy unload her bags and such and showed her the room she would be staying in. The next night Jared and his wife Hiedi had shown up in his Lincoln Towncar and he was in the Cadillac Fleetwood. Janet had shown them their room as well. For the rest of the night, they had some drinks, ate dinner, and talked about the plan for all of the hearses but there were three still on the way to Janet's house. After dinner, a lady named Madi got to Janet's house and the vehicle she was driving was a 2002 Lincoln TownCar in the color Aspen Green. She had purchased the (at the time) regular Lincoln TownCar from a regular Used Car Lot. They were talking by their (at the time) regular Cadillacs and Lincolns. The next day the other two people showed up. The first one that showed up was an older hearse which was a 1966 Pontiac Hearse that was owned by the family since 1987 when the hearse was in an accident where it had ended during a funeral Procession.

 The family bought it at an auction for 1500 dollars in 1987 and reconstructed the back door and put a new bumper on the hearse and had used it as a show car for Halloween and used it in parades around fall and occasionally took it to car shows. The hearse had sat in a barn on the family’s property since 1992 when the transmission had some problems but when the family got the email from Janet they fixed the car up and had taken the drive from texas to Janet’s home in Los Angeles, California. The second couple that had shown up had a 1959 Cadillac Coupe DeVille in a light blue color with a white convertible top. That night everyone had left and went to a local diner and parked their cars by each other and went to have dinner. Janet a week previously had rented out a garage that would fit all of the cars even when at midnight they would drastically change size they would still fit. 

 They went back to Janet’s house and picked up Janet’s Cadillac which was still in the driveway because of the condition that she has. Then drove to the garage that Janet had rented and parked inside. They waited until 11:55 and left the garage so the Cadillacs, Lincolns, and the Pontiac could change from everyday cars to Hearses. At 12:01 they went inside. They each opened up the back doors and got the church trucks from the side door. Most of the people did not know how to properly load a casket onto a church truck. Thankfully Madi the owner of the green Lincoln was a Funeral Director and she knew how to. After all of the caskets were on the church trucks behind the hearses they all opened up the casket lids and were ready to do “ The Plan”. They all had pieces of paper that had a loved one's name on them for each person and they had started with Janet’s family the names on the papers were the names of the people that had passed away that were family and friends of the people who own the luxury cars.

 They started on Janet’s family first and they all held up the pieces of paper so they could read them. The names that were read were John, Kenny, Brandi, Harvey, Charleyne, and Nathan. They had said their names and Janet had been in her home and then her husband Kenny had walked in then they had started talking “Hello Kenny it’s so good to see you”. Kenny replied, “I know it has been 33 years”. By that time Nathan had walked into the room and had been very tired but managed to get a cup of coffee. Nathan had sat down at the other end of the table from his mom. “Good morning Nathan,” said Janet. “Good morning to you too mom” Nathan replied. Janet got up, walked over to the fridge, and had walked over to the fridge and opened it up. “Would you guys like some omelets?”. “That would be great,” Kenny said. Janet had gotten some ingredients: eggs, jalapenos, cheese, ham, and milk. She walked over to the counter, set down her ingredients and walked over to the cabinet, and got a large pan, a mixing bowl, and a whisk. She cooked the omelets and they ate.

 When they had got done eating Nathan picked up the plates, silverware, and cookware and put them in the sink to clean. Nathan and Janet had gone to the living room and talked and watched the morning news while Kenny had gone out to the garage to smoke a cigarette. (Kenny had passed from lung cancer). “It's good to see you again mom and it's great to see the house again”. Then the doorbell rang. Nathan had walked over to the door and opened it. “Hello, aunt Charleyne!”. Janet got up and walked over toward her sister. “Well hey there Janey!” said Charleyne. Aunt Charleyne had passed away in 1987 when her fiance had fallen asleep at the wheel and drove into a tree at 94 miles per hour and Charleyne had not been found for 9 hours after being ejected from the vehicle which had no seatbelts. By then Kenny had walked in from the garage and asked Janet for her car keys and she said “They are on the key rack next to the keys to the 59”.

 The “59” is a 1959 Cadillac Coupe DeVille that Kenny had bought brand new in 1959. Kenny walked over, grabbed the keys to Janet’s car then got the keys to his 59. Janet and charleyne had walked out to the front porch and sat down and they saw Kenny get into Janet's car and moved it from out in front of the garage and backed the 59 out of the garage and walked back to the garage to get the car wash soap, the hose, a bucket, polish, and the scrubber and cleaned up the slightly dusty Cadillac. Then a car pulled around the corner and parked in front of the house. The people in the car were John and Harvey Janet’s brothers. As they were walking up the driveway to the house Janet looked at her watch and noticed she only had 1 hour left so she let her family know just then her other sister Brandi pulled around the corner and parked behind Harvey’s truck. 

Brandi had gotten out of the car and walked straight up the driveway and said hey everyone how are you then ran to the restroom. Harvey had got in the Cadillac to take it out for a spin. The battery was dead. So Harvey walked over to their neighbor Bill’s house and asked him if he and his son could help him push the Cadillac back out of the driveway to jump-start it. So Bill, Harvey, and Bill’s son Joseph had moved the Cadillac out into the street and jump-started it. Janet’s sister had come back outside. “Sorry about that ya’ll”. “That long drive from Alta with no stop was a nightmare”. That is ok sis” Janet followed with a chuckle. 

Janet had thought “This place is weird. I can move stuff like the real world. But everything is a type of simulation”.

 Janet had yelled out to Harvey who was now cleaning the inside of the windows on the ‘59. “Harvey!.” “Yes, dear?”. “What day s it again?”. “It is October 21st dear.” “Ok”.

Nathan had called out to his mother “MOM LOOK AT THE WATCH!”. Janet had looked and she only has 2 minutes left. She had told Harvey and her sister and told them Nathan can explain. Just then she disappeared. When she got back to the real world, she had made a decision. She was going to move to Salem, Massachusetts, and find out what is going on at this funeral home. The next day Janet looked into small apartments and rental houses in Salem. Janet had found one and messaged the seller. A couple of hours later she got a message saying she was approved. Janet had walked over to her savings jar and took it to the bank to cash it out. There was just under $84,000 from saving $200 out of every check that she got from various jobs and social security. Janet had more than enough for the apartment. She had started packing her things, and bought a 1996 Chevrolet Express van to sleep in and take her things while she towed the Cadillac behind it on a small wheel dolly that she had gotten with the van. Janet had packed her stuff in the van and even some in the Cadillac.  Janet had started making the drive and she had called the Funeral Director and asked if she had any job openings at the Funeral Home. Donna responded with “Yes, we have openings for a removal tech, funeral director, embalmer, and someone for cosmetics”. Janet immediately said, “Yes I will take the job as a Funeral Director and I can do cosmetics as well. I have a college degree in cosmetics”. Janet had gotten on the road and contacted the Massachusetts Funeral Director’s Association and found out how to get a Funeral Director’s License in the state. By the time Janet had gotten to Massachusetts, she had all of the questions for the test to get her license.
