Then, the waste comes back to humans, which is the life cycle of waste. This problem mostly comes from industrial and household waste. This pollution will certainly have a negative impact such as threatening people's health as well as all living things such as animals and plants, and of course, it will also have an impact on the destruction of the river ecosystem.

solution: The solution that can be applied is to provide good waste management services and implement a green industry. Then another effective way is to reduce the discharge of industrial and household wastewater into the river. The use of hazardous chemicals must also be reduced. Such things as the use of pesticides, fertilizers, and other chemicals must be strictly regulated and supervised to prevent hazardous chemical waste from polluting the river. Good waste management services, implementing green industry, the government provides good waste management facilities for the community, conducting waste processing properly, using environmentally friendly materials, and not throwing garbage into the river.

how: The government must take a role in making regulations regarding the protection of rivers from waste pollution and providing good waste management facilities for the community, and then the industrial sector must also take an important role in preventing waste pollution by implementing green industry. So that environmental sustainability and industrial development can be harmonized, this concept is applied by reducing and preventing waste emissions from being discharged into nature, which will be managed and recycled.

This is a decrease of 0,17% compared to September 2021. The basis of the BPS calculation is to use the national poverty line based on expenditure, which is around IDR 550 thousand rupiah per capita per month. Initial findings state that the number of poor individuals in households in Indonesia is 38,9 million or around 14,3% of the total population in 2021. Community empowerment:

This can be done by providing entrepreneurship training, improving skills, and providing access to the resources needed to develop businesses.

2. Providing social assistance:

Social assistance programs can provide poor families with basic needs such as food, clothing and shelter.

3.

Writer:
Haneef Harland Said (I wrote this alone, again) ((check comments))

The problem:

Indonesia faces a significant challenge when it comes to cultivating a culture of reading. A startling statistic reveals that out of 1,000 Indonesians, only one individual has an interest in reading, as indicated by a survey conducted by the Central Connecticut State University in 2016. This low reading interest positions Indonesia at the unenviable 60th rank out of 61 countries. Moreover, the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) reports that a mere 0.001 percent of Indonesians have a genuine interest in reading. These alarming figures have given rise to critical headlines in local media, such as "Indonesians: Too Lazy to Read, Too Chatty on Social Media." The irony is stark as Indonesians often engage actively on social media, where discussions and communication thrive, yet remain indifferent to reading. It's essential to recognize that this issue isn't rooted in inherent cultural deficiencies or a lack of sophistication, but rather stems from systemic problems tied to socioeconomic inequality and political history. Thus, while it may not be the fault of the Indonesian people, there's a collective responsibility to take action and address this situation.

Access to reading materials in Indonesia is far from equitable, rendering reading a privilege accessible mainly to those residing in Java, particularly Jakarta. Public libraries are scarce in many parts of the country, and major bookstores are concentrated in capital cities. However, the issue goes beyond availability; it also involves affordability. Books are often considered luxury items, accessible primarily to the middle and upper classes in the urban centers. This stark division creates a noticeable gap in access to reading materials. As the author points out, growing up in Jakarta with middle-upper class privileges means not only having easier access to books but also enjoying leisure activities that come with that privilege. In essence, reading is revealed to be a luxury activity for the fortunate few.

Recognizing the importance of addressing this issue, initiatives like Pustaka Bergerak (Mobile Library) have been established to bridge this access gap. Pustaka Bergerak, with over 17,000 branches across the country, seeks to provide access to books and engage readers through interactive activities, thereby fostering an interest in reading. Still, the fundamental problem remains – access to books is far from equitable, and the act of reading remains a privilege, highlighting the deep-rooted inequalities within the society.

The issues of low reading interest and unequal access to reading materials in Indonesia reveal systemic disparities that must be acknowledged and addressed collectively to encourage a culture of reading and ensure that it is not limited to a privileged few.

The Solution:

To address the disparities in access to reading materials and promote a culture of reading in Indonesia, an innovative solution lies in the establishment of Free Digital Inclusive Libraries (FDILs). These libraries would harness the power of technology and community engagement to make books accessible to every Indonesian, completely free of charge, regardless of their socio-economic background.

Free Digital Inclusive Libraries would be a nationwide network of digital platforms and physical hubs strategically placed across the country. These platforms would offer a vast collection of e-books and audiobooks in both Indonesian and local languages, covering a wide range of genres and topics. What sets FDILs apart is their offline capabilities, ensuring that even those without consistent internet access can download books for offline reading. Additionally, FDILs would collaborate with local schools, community centers, and even mobile libraries, bringing books directly to rural and underserved areas.

To foster a love for reading and provide essential support, FDILs would also feature online reading communities, interactive book clubs, and virtual storytelling sessions. Through partnerships with schools and community organizations, FDILs would organize reading challenges and contests, incentivizing reading and providing recognition for young readers. Furthermore, FDILs could collaborate with local publishers and authors to curate exclusive content, making reading a diverse and culturally enriching experience.

In essence, Free Digital Inclusive Libraries would democratize access to knowledge and the joy of reading, empowering all Indonesians to explore the world through the pages of a book, without any financial barrier. This innovative solution would not only bridge the gap in reading access but also cultivate a new generation of avid readers, ensuring that reading becomes a universal and free privilege.

How:

To make Free Digital Inclusive Libraries a reality and promote a reading culture in Indonesia, a well-structured implementation plan is essential. Here's how it can be done:

Public-Private Partnerships: Collaborate with both government entities and private organizations to secure funding, technology infrastructure, and resources. Engaging the private sector can ensure the sustainability and scalability of FDILs.

Digital Platform Development: Create a user-friendly digital platform accessible via smartphones and computers. Partner with tech experts to ensure offline access capabilities, as this is crucial for those with limited internet connectivity.

Content Aggregation: Collaborate with publishers, authors, and educational institutions to build an extensive collection of e-books and audiobooks. Ensure a diverse range of content, including educational materials, fiction, non-fiction, and local literature.

Physical Hubs: Establish physical FDIL hubs in strategic locations, especially in underserved rural areas. We need to take serious action to fight climate change right now. Do you know that climate change exists when carbon dioxide and other air pollutant collect in the atmosphere absorb sunlight and bounce back to the earth normally this radiation would escape into space but some pollutants make the heat trapped at the earth and their impact is called the greenhouse effect

Solutions:

Addressing climate change will require many solutions. Because the cause of global warming isn't just from us but also from mining, deforestation, over usage of fossil fuel, and may others. Yet so may of these solutions exist today. They range from worldwide changes to where we source our electricity to protecting forests from deforestation. The solutions that we are proposing are that of our own action. How we can help decrease global warming by the smallest things we do.

How:

1) Public Education and Awareness:

Raise awareness about global warming and climate change.

Educate the public on how to reduce its impact.

2) Energy & water efficiency

Producing clean energy is essential, but reducing our consumption of energy and water by using more efficient devices is less costly and equally important

3) Responsible consumption & recycling

Adopting responsible consumption habits is crucial, be it regarding food, clothing, cosmetics or cleaning products. The problems that cause poverty can be categorized into the following things:

A. Declining people's work ethic and productivity.

This factor is very important in its influence on poverty. Therefore, to increase the work ethic and productivity of society, it must be supported by good natural resources and human resources, as well as health and education guarantees that can be maximally accountable.

B. High cost of living.

The soaring cost of living in an area is a result of the lack of balance in people's income or salaries. Of course, poverty is a logical consequence of the above reality. This could be caused by a lack of skilled labor and large numbers of unemployed.

C. Unequal distribution of government incoming subsidies.

Apart from making it difficult for poor people to fulfill basic needs and guaranteeing security, this also indirectly kills people's sources of income. On the other hand, poor people are still burdened by state taxes.

Solution:

Homelessness can be hard to solve but We can reduce the rates of it for example:

1. Affordable Housing Initiatives:

One important way to tackle homelessness is by making housing more affordable

We can do this by creating more affordable housing options and offering incentives to private developers to build them ,This way , more people can find homes they can actually afford

2. Supportive Services:

To help those experiencing homelessness , we need to provide support services , This includes things like mental health care , addiction treatment , job training , and case management , By focusing on getting people into stable housing first and then addressing other issues , we can give them a better chance at rebuilding their lives

3. Prevention and Outreach:

It's also crucial to prevent homelessness from happening in the first place , We can achieve this by setting up programs to prevent homelessness , offering rapid rehousing options , and creating outreach teams to connect with homeless individuals , understand their needs , and provide the necessary support

How:

1. create awareness through social media

2. take action yourself

3. Make donations to people in need

4. Eliminate Gender Inequality

5. create jobs

6. Reduce the expenditure burden on the poor and near-poor

Members:

- Javid

- Cherrysa

- Yori

Problem: In Indonesia, there is a problem where thieves are stealing other people's property during shalat Jum'at at Mosques, the most common thing these thieves steal are sandals. This can be very frustrating as having your sandals stolen can lead to blisters, splinters, and infections from walking barefoot on dirty paths, and on top of that you will loose your precious sandals.

Solution: To solve this problem, one of the solutions we came up with is to install a CCTV system that detects each person and their belongings, if something was stolen an alarm will go off and people can identify the thief by watching back the CCTV footage.

How: How our security system will work is by having security cameras placed at the front of the Mosque. We will place cameras so we will be able to see every single person that enters and exits the mosque. The second camera will be placed at the batas suci, where people take off their sandals and put them away. This placement of the second camera is crucial because the batas suci is where most sandal thieves commit their crime.

Another solution we came up with to make our security system even more secure is to set up lockers. This extra level of protection is optional, as we know that some people are in a hurry and can't afford to spend time locking up their belongings in a locker.

The operation of this system go as follows:

1. A person will enter the mosque and the first set of security cameras will immediately record them

2. The person will take off their sandals at the batas suci and cross into the inside of the mosque. When this is happening, the cameras will record and save the person's face and sandals, this data will be uploaded to a temporary cloud where it can be easily accessed and will be cleared after 7 days to save cloud space.

3. When a thief comes to take someone's sandals, the camera will scan and verify that person's face to see if their face & sandals match with the previous data.

4. The system will detect that the face and sandals do not match and a loud alarm will go off, alerting everyone in the mosque that there is a thief. Hopefully by having this alarm people will chase after the thief and stop them from stealing sandals.

5. If the thief is not caught in the moment, we will have data of the thief's face that can be used to track down said thief.

6. To access this data, all you will need to do is either enter the security room or scan the QR code on the wall to access the files.

*If a person chooses to place their belongings in a locker, it will make it impossible for the sendal thieves to steal without causing a commotion.

Hopefully by incorporating this security system mosques will be a safer place and the cases of theft will decrease significantly.

These 2 problems are opposite problems that should be able to compliment each other.

Solution (Keiko)

First of all, most Indonesians are barely taught to not waste food in school which inturn makes the culture of not wasting food not implanted by school normally. Compared to the people in North America, many schools and organizations like the “Commission for Environmental Cooperation '' have developed ways to build students' awareness about food waste through several activities and initiatives. For example they’ve been teaching students by learning to reduce food waste can also turn into integrated math learning or cooking lessons.

Nowadays, the internet is already used by most people. Information on food waste can also be shared through social media or other applications that can reinforce the value of zero waste and build a collective movement all over the country.

To reduce waste, for the Indonesian government to make progress on this commitment, reducing the amount of food waste could be one of its agendas. However, reducing food waste is sometimes not as easy as it seems. In this case, the government should work together with civil society, industry, and educators to find effective solutions that can help people to stop wasting food.

How (Hafidz)

One of the ways that we propose to achieve one of the solutions, is by using the multinational supermarket cooperation “Superindo” as an example. They have been executing a program called “#Zerotolandfill” which has with two ways to manage food wastes that is made :
1. Turning the waste into a valuable product

2. Making use of the waste for social programs

Whilst, they’ve been running the the program, “Superindo” has divided the wastes into three separate categories:
1. Vegetables, Fruits, Meats and Fishes

2. Used cooking oil

3. Unsold edible goods in good conditions

#Zerotolandfill has also gotten help from other partners that also try to manage the trash

From the examples given, the proposed solution could reach its goal by:
1. Collaborating with other people to reduce trash

2. Finding ways to effectively recycle the waste into a usable product

3. Manage the waste based on the type of it
