After researching my name “Lucy” I found out that it means “As of Light ''. Its origin first came from the latin name “Lucius” I was supposed to originally be name after my dads mom but my mom didn't think it would be fair, so then my mom thought to name me Melanie, but my dad didn't think it would fit me but it did end up being my middle name. So then my dad brought up my name. I think my name fits me because I don't really think I'd be a “Melanie” and seeing other names on me doesn't really fit well. I used to not like my name because I thought it sounded childish thinking of how I would be mature as an adult with a childlike name but now I don't really mind it. But I also think it fits me is because when my mom named me she later got a tattoo of the show "I Love Lucy" in the heart and shading and everything and I'm glad she did because that's something me and her share and bond over.

If i were to choose two songs and their lyrics that connect to my culture and me the 1st one would have to be “Oye Mi Amor '' by Mana and i say this because It's the first concert i've ever been to and it was by them. I remember going to see them and it was a blissful moment that I'd never forget and I think other people can say the same about this song and how this song can hold memories for them.

The second song I would pick would have to be “Las Mañanitas” By Vicente Fernandez because whenever I think or hear this song it brings me so many memories of how I would wake up on my birthday to that song playing or playing that song for my loved ones during their birthdays or other occasions. And I think this song is also important to my culture because I think some people have a similar experience and connection with this song.
