Võru is a small town. Võru is 234 years old and was founded by Catherine the Great of Russia in 1784. The population of Võru is about 13500. Võru is the capital of children with its children's festivals every year. Võru is also a very clean and green town. You hardly ever see any litter on the ground or public lawns unmowed. It is a beautiful island with great beaches, friendly people and rich fauna and flora. 
There are a lot of farmers who cultivate our land and there are shepherds who take after the animals.
There are a lot of ancient sightseeings, an ancient Castle in Hora in and many churches with ancient mosaics. There are also three small islands around  Astypalaia  which are  called Kounoupa, Koutsomytis and Agia Kyriaki.
