The people in these neighborhoods face many challenges regarding violence, poverty, and danger. These characteristics affect the everyday lives of the people within the community. The negative portrayal of these rough communities results in judgement and assumptions from those who may not be experiencing the situation first hand. These assumptions cause conflict and fear to arise, automatically illustrating the environment and everyone who's part of it to be depicted in a negative light. With the colorful portraits on broken down houses and the lively paintings of nature on battered buildings, the artwork is what begins to make a difference.
