Game On!

Michael, the main character in the story, is an African-American boy who doesn’t have a whole lot of experiences. He is 9 years-old and an only child. He has the desire to explore and see the world but his current environment is a limitation for him. Michael runs away from home and meets several different people along the way that have lives that are very different from his. He goes on a journey where he is introduced to culture, individuals and beliefs. The game is on as he tries to find himself in relation to what he knows, but his experiences definitely have an impact on his thought process. A little caveat is that, the “Game is On” because he has a limited time to do this before he runs out of time. Will Michael be able to embrace culture and diversity, build community and make it through the game in time?
