It's been an interesting 2 1/2 years. Thank you for everything and honestly help make MSSC the best it could be. To think when I first started at Henry Street, I thought I would be working with you and look how that ended up.

I'll try to keep the bean bag fights up but I'm not playing basketball with the Jacobs lol

Margus Newgirg. That building won’t be the same without you in it. HSS has been so fortunate to have you in all of the roles they have. You have the most amazing way with students and I appreciate who you are so much. I will always see you as the science teacher since that’s how I met you in after school. The big kid amongst all the kids. Only amazing things are coming your way🙂

Go Sox. Also, #strongisland. Your reaction to these fun facts about me, is my favorite memory of you. That, and making sure I got a bag of Doritos now and then...for the children... I will miss you and your cool Zoom backgrounds at our weekly team meetings. I know the kiddies will miss you even more. Good luck in your next adventure and let me know if I can ever be of any help.

I have had the privelege of not only working with you but having you as a welcoming big brother figure in my childrens lives. Except Savannah, I think she had a thing for you (lol). Wishing you all the best and know that you will be highly missed.

Oh brother Marcus. I feel like like I’ve known you forever. Thank you for accepting all my craziness. You will be a great asset to any work environment (but I think you and Elise would always work best together. Keeping her on her toes😂) My favorite memory has to be when you got the blood clot in your finger and you asked me to pop it then you got scared. The office will be different without you.

heyy marcus, I know I didn’t text you at all during quarantine and that’s my fault, but there’s no need I know you are doing great and if you aren’t you always have my number, don’t tell elise but you were my favorite you were like a brother I never had and it’s sad that your leaving but opportunities will come and go and we all understand but besides work I will miss you SO SO MUCHH I can’t even explain it, your not going to be there if I visit UNMS but it’s ok I get it. I’ve learned so much from you from being brother Marcus 2.0. I loved sitting in the office during recess and watching funny videos with you. (I still have the song “bacon pancakes bacon bacon pancakes” sometimes stuck in my head🙄😂) I remember when we were going to the high school tour and I fell asleep cause it was boring. I never thought being a peer leader would be so much fun with you and Elise. And I’m so glad I got to do it. You’ve taught me so much and I’m very thankful for it. Aw marcus your leaving! ive known you since you worked in after school in 6th grade and you were one of my favorite adults that worked there, we've had a lot of funny moments and i'm sad that you wont be working at UNMS anymore. Thanks for making my school days better and helping me get into highschool. I know I was your favorite. Now there is no point of going to unms anymore, I'm going only going to see Elise big head and not yours. We had some really good memories like when I used to spank you in basketball. You were like a big brother and a bestfriend. Hi Marcus I haven’t seen you in a minute. I wish I could've come to visit before you left. Thanks for all the laughs, thank you for making my middle school experience so much better. The office always gave me somewhere to go during lunch, somewhere I knew I would laugh and accuse you of cheating in Uno because you always beat me. It gave me a place where I could *attempt* to steal snacks (the only time I did yall caught me). Where I would rub it in your face on the very rare occasion I beat you in speed runner. I know you'll miss me.

Marcussss we all know I was your favorite and I’m going to miss you so much. Going to the office to be with you and Elise was always the highlight of my day. Your so funny and annoying. I can’t believe this is happening☹️ Even though you were a pain in the butt I’m still gonna miss you like crazy. Wherever life takes you, I hope you are successful and achieve everything you want to. Marcus, as evidenced by all of these wonderful memories and reflections, you are a beloved member of the HSS and UNMS community. We are so grateful for all that you've done to be a change maker, counselor, and positive influence on the lives of so many Lower East Side youth.
