The woman is a frustrated person who has only sick grandmother in her family and very poor. 
The man is a normal office man, but has warm heart and tries to be a good adult to her.
The city plays an important role in the story. I'm not sure which city was the background of this drama, so I assume it is Seoul. Seoul is a very busy and crowded city and the people who live there are all desperate to be alive in the competitive condition.
