Banks are tertiary because the banking system provides financial service to the Puerto Rican population.

economic system: La Milla de Oro is part of the economic system of marketing. This is because banks need to have the same mentality as companies to attract the most customers, which is a big part of the marketing system.

Demographic Transition Model:
Towards the end of the 20th century, when la Milla de Oro developed, Puerto Rico was in the third stage of the demographic transition model. One of the main aspects of the third stage is improving economical conditions, which the banking system helped, like mentioned, by providing financial services. In present days, it is in the fourth stage because the birth rate remains low and the death rate is increasing. Countries in stage four have a stronger economy, which is one of the effects of an improved financial system.

The refinery produced gasoline, diesel, propane, and other products of petroleum. After 20 years this refinery among many others closed down. Corco Habla belongs to the Market/Commercial system. Economic Activity and System: This is a tertiary economic activity because it generates and provides electricity. It is a market based system because the electricity is directed and sold to the people that live around the area of the powerplant.

Demographic Transition Model : 

Stage 3 - While the island has been extremely progressive in terms of women’s rights, access to healthcare, and basic necessities, many crucial systems have yet to reach their full potential. The healthcare, education, and economic systems, backbones for society, are not as developed as expected and needed. The image above of PREPA serves to show the lack of accountability throughout the island. In being the only organization responsible for the distribution of power throughout the island, the corporation must be both accountable and supported by the aforementioned systems. However, overwhelming controversy surrounds this organization as it’s the most expensive utility in the island and is extremely draining of the economy when compared to the continental US. Hence, the establishment of this somewhat inefficient and devastatingly expensive service, only further tarnishes the fragile
economy
