This film talks about the story of four ladys: the second wife of Mr Dashwood and her three daughter: Elinor, Marianne and Margaret. For Mrs. Dashwood, Elinor, Marianne, Margaret, the Norland estate is now only a mirage after John Dashwood's death, because the inheritance was given to his firstborn Henry Dashwood, and the Barton Cottege is a new arrangement as reasonable as one Country house and London with its dance parties and sumptuous salons is just a taste of a distant nobility. In Norland, Elinor knows Edward Ferrars's brother, Fanny's wife, Hanry's wife, in long and romantics walks, a feeling, immediately broken by Edward's family, is born. For him, the familily predict a more comfortable future, instead of marry Elinor . At Barton Cottage, while Elinor continues to quietly silence her sentiment, Marianne turns her attention to the fascinating Willoughby by refusing Colonel Brandon's courtship too much for her. The two show their love extravagantly, sprawling by the rushes in the countryside under the malicious eyes of people.

After some ti Edward reveals that his brother Robert has married Lucy, an away cousin. Edward also recounted that he was trapped in an engagement with a woman who had long since no longer loved her, and who, roughly, broke the engagement just to marry his brother Robert, who became rich in inheriting the fortune lost in honor of Edward. Edward asks Elinor to marry her and she accepts. Marianne, now mature, decides to marry Colonel Brandon, preferring to passion the respect she feels for him.

"Sense and Sensibility" is a well-executed adaptation of Jane Austin's first published novel. Between the stunning scenery, perfect casting, and director Ang Lee's delicate treatment of the story, Elinor and Marianne Dashwood step right off of the page and into our hearts. As one might expect, the film moves a little slow but the story is so addictive that you won't mind. The atmosphere of the English countryside is magic and the indoor shots of high class homes have a true transporting power; however, the true power of this story comes from unexpected surprises and the need to know what happens next. Sense and Sensibility shows how women in upper-class Georgian England, though privileged, had relatively few choices in life. The beautiful, humorous movie creates a buzz of excitement around the Dashwood sisters' romantic intrigue. Some of the characters you'll love to hate (the Dashwoods' horrible sister-in-law and gloating Miss Steele), and others you'll absolutely adore (little Margaret Dashwood, the future pirate).
