I think they are a huge problem to society. I think Petya and NoEscape.exe I think they were terrible viruses that hit the internet and computer field like a brick. If we had better firewalls and more time on the virus-protection. If we want to bring in more problems to this then let's talk about Remote Administration tool. A Remote Administration Tool or RAT for short. RAT's give access to a PC this is just like a backdoor to your pc and it can cause serious damage. Remcos Rat and njrat are the worst rat's. Reason is they can be disguised as applications and when you get ratted these 2 programs can run literal viruses and trojans that can ruin your computer. One time my friend was on a risky google IP block that got his IP address leaked and he almost got infected.

I personally think better firewalls and more Anti-Trojans would help it. I think they should patch more viruses and stop them from entering the pc. I think their should be better port forwarding and ISP's should start getting better firewalls too. I know network firewalls spread it easier. I also think companys should use more secure logins. And for more people to encrypt their hashes. I also think their should be hexidemal encryption.

Let's take the ILOVEYOU Virus as example it spread through emails as a love letter by a secret admire of some sort. But this virus was one of the biggest viruses that hit the community doing billions in damage. I got this information from this link:https://www.csoonline.com/article/3406446/what-is-a-computer-virus-how-they-spread-and-5-signs-youve-been-infected.html . Rootkits and Cryptojacking is the worst types of malware considering it does a lot of damage. Cryptojacking hijacks your computer to use it's CPU or GPU components to mine Bitcoin or Ethereum. Rootkits are terrible due to how easy it is to spread. Rootkits spread faster than viruses but what a rootkit truly does is it messes with your AD (Active Directory) Which sends notifications to the computer saying it has been jacked but cannot do anything about it. I got rootkit info from CSO again. Cryptojacking can also be in websites that take information.

Computer Viruses in Statistics

"Key malware statistics

350,000 new pieces of malware are detected every day. Over 7 billion malware attacks were reported this year. There are now nearly 980 million malware programs out there. Every minute, four companies fall victim to ransomware attacks.". I think even more people might fall trap to Remote Access Trojans/RAT's because how easy they are to disguise. If disguised very well with bypasses and the RAT has got done being crafted they can send it out and leak it to the public. Now the problem with this is their is kids and the elder that fall for this. They fall for phishing links and suspicious downloads. This is so sad to see because they lose all their information they worked had for. How would you feel if your info got stolen? Bad right? That is why we need to protect the elders.
