This wonderful product is called the electromagnet. It was created by a man named William Sturgeon. The first version he had ever made was made with a shape of a horseshoe and wrapped in a coil. How this contraption worked is when an electrical current passed throught the wire, the object became magnetized. Right off the bat this product could already lift a nine pound object with only a 7 ounce wire. That is pretty impressive! The strength of the magnet is decided by how much energy is sent through the coil. The more energy, the higher the strength. This invention is only the beginning of the many things that will happen in the future of electromagnets.

Several years later, sturgeon had invented a much more powerful version of the electromagnet. He demonstrated this device by having a current travel through over a mile of coil to reach the end of the line and have the electromagnet strike a bell. This was huge for him, one of his biggest accomplishments. Not only did he make the electromagnet but his invention gave other people the idea to make more things that work with electricity. And little did he know that this had made a new path for energy in the future. This man did so much for the science world and didn’t get much in return but his invention sparked many ideas for the future to make his idea much bigger, stronger, and better. So tell me one good reason that you wouldn’t want this product for yourself. I know that I would.

This product has made a huge impact on today’s society. Not only has the electromagnet been made a lot bigger and stronger but it is used all around the world. They are used at dumps to pick up big pieces of metal. They can also be used in many factories like car factories for lifting the chassis while parts are being put onto the car. Overall he has made a big impact on society because if it weren't for his invention, several things would be so much harder to make and jobs would be a lot more complicated. The electromagnet really simplifies heavy lifting.
