Maksim dark is the reason I write Techno. The moody soundscapes consisting of dark, eerie sci fi sounds, the pitched vocals and aggressive leads are a core foundation of my love for minimal techno. The slightly out of time synthesized leads and drum grooves are integral to how I think about music when I am writing.

This label has become of one of Maksim's main labels to release music on due to how their style matches perfectly with the style of the label. Maksim Dark was clearly influenced by Oliver's clear style of Dark minimal Techno from the early 2010's. Maksim also stated in an interview that Oliver was one of his main influences to start writing techno as he had heard 'Nothing else like it" (Gaboury-Potvin, 2021).

Dubfire’s use of delay in his 2007 release - ‘Ribcage’ is something I hear in quite a few of Maksim Dark’s songs. The use of percussion to create rich, intricate rhythms is heard in many of Dubfire’s songs. As well as evolving soundscapes to
create tension.
