Chapter 17 Q2: The U15's "blind optimism" means that they are pumped and optimistic about the season and their new team but they don't quite realize that their team is "weak" because it was hastily assembled and haven't ever played together.

Chapter 18 Q8: The purpose of this chapter was to show what caused Luma to want (even more) to practice over at Milam Park because now it wasn't only about wanting a field with grass instead of dirt, now it was about ensuring the safety of her players from the people that hung around the Indian Creek Elementary field, and the gang activity of the apartment complexes behind the school.

"On Tuesday night, Luma would have a chance to improve things for her team if she could convince the Clarkston City Council to let her use the city's field in Milam Park. She would face a tough audience, but Luma Resolved to give it her best shot," (St. John). The significant lesson I spotted was to do the best you can for someone or something you love, like Luma with her team.
