Child Mind Institute is a non profit that works with families and children struggling with mental illness. The organization has three commitments:
1. "Give children and adolescents access to the best, most effective clinical care when and where they need it most."
2. "Advance the science of developing the brain to improve diagnosis and treatment."
3. "Provide useful, accurate information that empowers families and communities to get help."

The article's central focus is investigating the relationship between growing teen use of Instagram and Facebook and increases in teen depression. The article suggests that increased use of the social media sites leads to increases in rates of depression. Relationships built through social media are less emotionally satisfying in teens who do not already maintain strong face to face relationships.
