Currently, food production is increasing at an alarming rate. It is already responsible for about 25% of the world's annual emissions, and if there are no further actions done to minimize the greenhouse gas emissions, temperatures are estimated to rise 1.5 degrees above pre industrial levels over the next century.

The largest cause for deforestation is industrial meat production. Feeding just one 1kg of chicken takes 3.2 kgs of crops that is needed to produce, and 1kg of beef produces 70kg of greenhouse emissions, while producing 1kg of wheat only emits 2.5kg of greenhouse gases. That’s about 28 times more emissions! 

Although many of us eat meat on a daily basis, it is crucial for us to slowly cut down on the amounts we consume.

Although, there is information proving that decreasing meat production and rather increasing plant-based production would rather have a more positive effect on the planet's climate crisis. Let's talk about the data. While meat production only contributes to 17% of the world's food supply, 77% of the land on Earth is taken up for animal agriculture and livestock production purposes.  Here we can see that plant-based meat emits 30%–90% less greenhouse gas than conventional meat, and so many other benefits to growing plant-based products.
