An inventor names Nikola Tesla who moved from Croatia to the U.S. at 28 invented the electric motor.

In the one about railroads I found it interesting the change in 30 years, and also, later, different companies were able to use the same railroads. Leading to good being transported even faster. Like new inventions.

They were almost slaves, as the only forms of freedom they had were low paying jobs. Immigrant labor, for the wealthy folk (who owned the U.S. steel and Standard Oil and Mining companies)  was good because they would be able to hire more people for lower prices; as those immigrants were probably facing poverty anyway.
