He jumped in to shift the conversation and was able to help the 7th grader feel supported and cared about. This is a kind act because he stepped in to help the student who needed it.

I asked if we could eat lunch together and then I asked how they were doing. It didn't seem that they wanted to talk about it, but I told them I was there for them. They said thank you and started to explain why they were having a hard time lately. I texted one teacher, and I went to the other teacher's room and invited them in person. Even if neither of them were to come, I know that it is always kind to include people. I think this is a kind act because it can sometimes be tough if you are being excluded or feeling lonely, and reaching out to someone who may need it is a nice thing to do.
