If the government does not meet the citizens' social and economic needs, then Singapore will not be a caring and friendly environment for everyone where there will be no social and economic well being for the citizens. Not only that, citizens will lose their jobs, education and will have bad relationships with their families, relatives and friends. There will also be no goods and services such as HDB flats for the citizens to survive, healthcare centers and hospitals for the people who are sick and old age. In addition, the citizens' future will be very grim, serious and worse.

It is important for the government to make friends with other countries because it will prevent hostile aggression from happening in Singapore. Not only that, the government will learn how to learn new languages and interact with other governments in different languages. The government will also learn more valuable cultural exchanges and having friends from all over the world can give a better understanding of the world the Singapore citizens live in.

(i) Citizens elect representatives to form a government to make decisions on their behalf. However, a government in a representative democracy does not have unlimited power to make decisions. It is required to act according to the country’s constitution.

(ii) For citizens to have trust in the government, it is important that elections are free and fair. The different features in the electoral process help to ensure this.

(iii) Citizens also play an important role as they exercise their responsibility of voting to elect representatives who can represent their concerns.
